Ouch I Feel your pain. Sounds like best to go insurance to me. No cctv or over looking buildings? I had a hit and run on our garden wall, white van man doing three point turn in road reversed in to old stone wall, not same as new motor but did a runner, clearly must have known. Lady witnessed passing took down reg which I passed to police and insurance. They came back that they had checked with owners and were told van was in a garage for service. Poor investigating for me, ended up insurance.

Very, very sorry to see/read this Ori. Absolutely sickening and I’d be beside myself if I came back to that.
People really are shits aren’t they.

Here’s to Baron’s getting you sorted out and back to being on top form soon.

Damm it, sorry to hear about the damage.

Have a look at that CarWow video, where a firm pulls out all of the dents on the roof of his 996, after being stomped on.

That damage was way worse and didn't need any paint. Hard to believe though!

So sorry to read this OP, and as disheartening as I know it is (from experience, a person of latter years reversed in to my week old G31 in April), at least it’s only metal and no-one was injured/shocked in the car at the time. The lady in my case was reported to the police by a witness, and it turned out she’d lost her husband to covid a month before, and been diagnosed with cancer two weeks before. She claimed on her insurance on her 20 year old Polo... I felt immensely sorry for her, even though she drove off and technically left the scene of an accident. Sorry for the ramble but I guess the point is hopefully you are able to take peace from the fact that the person won’t have set out to do this. Hope you’re able to get it all fixed and back to as new though, I completely feel your pain. J

That’s bad form to knowingly do damage and drive off (re the OP) - what goes around, comes around, hopefully!

The vast majority of hit and runs are the result of the offending driver having no insurance and\or currently serving a ban.

I'm pretty sure that rising insurance costs also make some people think twice about stopping. If you've maxxed out with regards to your annual insurance payment there's every chance that stopping and admitting to a crash will see your payments rise to an unaffordable level. Add onto this the ridiculous repair fees that many insurance approved garages charge and you've got the perfect storm for high insurance costs and high % of hit and runs.

Oh, any too many people are twats!

I’m not sure what happened. Have to hope the cc tv footage is pointed at the right place. We shall see if Barnet even respond to me.

Went to Barons BMW today and had confirmed what my guy told me. New door and paint pretty much half the car.
BMW prices I reckon the insurance company will be in for 6k. Will be interesting to see the estimate when it comes through.

Car will probably go in end of next week. Hope they do a good job!

If you’re nearer to kent, Dent Rewind in Tunbridge Wells are excellent!

I’d suggest a 2nd opinion - When using a body shop, you have issues with overspray as well as potential paint mismatch, not to mention a longer time away

Bit far for me.
This is a BMW Bodyshop so I’m hoping they won’t mess up. Who knows though?
I’ll go over with a fine tooth comb and post pictures.

You should be fine, but if the work is not good enough reject it until it is done to your standard.

Small update.
Got insurance approved so car went into Bodyshop today and I got a Cooper S loan car.
Got a call this afternoon saying parts are on back order so r already 4 day delay. Job has gone from 7-10 working days to 10-14 working days. Why do I get a feeling I won’t have car back until the new year?
