Less than 2 weeks and this happens.

So, I’ve had everything sorted and I’m spotting more faults with the work.
Paintwork is solid, but then I see today that the windscreen wash mechanism isn’t properly in and needs to be sorted.
Going back in on Thursday.
Also there is a hole right in the centre which I’m convinced wasn’t there before or should have something blocking it.
Doesn’t anyone know what it is.

Anyone have any idea what that hole is? I’m not even sure it’s a hole or just missing paint. Maybe where they held the panel while spraying it? I presume no one else has that on their bonnet.

I’m getting fed up with snagging list a repair. This should be done properly by a bmw garage.

I collected my new car after a repair to the nose cone by their in house bodyshop and they hadn’t connected the headlamp washers nor filled the reservoir. Their first attempt they didn’t even get the colour match correct.

Just a lack of attention to detail and in my case a colour blind sprayer!

I agree with your estimate of 6K, I had a car knock the wing mirror of my Volvo V90 whilst I was standing on the pavement next to the it, no surprise the driver didn't stop :x . The total cost for the repair through the authorised repairer was £2600 for the mirror replacement and £5000 for a hire vehicle for 2 weeks. No wonder insurance is so expensive.

Yeah i am not surprised by the quote. Hit and runs are the worst. This happened to me a few years ago whilst parked...went through insurance - the bill was around £3k. (Headlamp alone was £1,300). Are bodyshops rinsing it for insurance jobs? hard to say, but they insisted on new bits throughout.

When you sign the agreement for the hire car at those silly high prices - look at the small Print- you will have tö pay if the other parties insurance company does not!

I can check for you tomorrow Ori. I’m pretty sure there isn’t a hole there on mine. Shame that there’s a snag list with this repair. I fear standards have slipped. For whatever reason it might be. COVID seems to be a good excuse for sloppy workmanship and customer service at the moment and I’d perhaps mention to the dealer that it’s a shame you’re having to come back not once but twice to have things looked at and rectified. You’ll get there.

Would appreciate you checking on your car. It’s a very strange place for a drainage hole.

I don’t know of any drain holes on the high side?
I suspect that it might be a location point used during manufacture and subsequently plugged.

Hope you have reported it to the Police. Perhaps there is CCTV nearby which they have the power to cease. Worth a look to see if there is. Also worth posting on social media with the details. Someone may have dashcam footage. Longshot but worth a go.

I contacted council as I know there is CC tv footage there. They were very good and responded and literally the 2 cameras that are there were pointed in opposite directions and my incident wasn’t seen. :-(
All fixed now though.
