Lighting question
Got my Sport Z4 in June and loving it but I have what is hopefully not a stupid question. I understand that when I start the car the lighting system obviously defaults to auto. I can not put off the lights by using the off button. The only time I can put the auto light button off is when the car is switched off. The only thing I can do when the car is on is put the lights to sidelights. This is possibly the way it is but what can you do and what are your thoughts before I approach dealer. My car is the Sport model Not M Sport. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Lighting question
To my knowledge you can't turn off the lights with the engine running only down to side lights It defaults to AUTO on mine, although if you turn them off and then start the car it will drive with no lights on. I damaged to do quite a few miles in the dark on the M60 a few months ago before I realised what I'd done.

If I put mine to off using the button before I start the car the auto button lights up as soon as I start. The other post here says that he was fit to drive with no lights . Mine does not do that. I have also upgraded to the latest software upgrade.

Lighting question
I may have been on just side lights but I certainly had no headlights. It was only when I got to an unlit area that I noticed and switched it back to AUTO again. I had been parked up with engine off and switched them off. Then I started the car and drove off and didn't realise I hadn't put them back to AUTO.Rickyxsara wrote: ↑Fri Nov 13, 2020 4:35 pm If I put mine to off using the button before I start the car the auto button lights up as soon as I start. I realise this is a late post but why would you want to turn off the lights when driving?
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

I don’t even think you can turn off all lights.
I know the service department switch off the lights to prevent battery drain while working on the car.
