Is everyone happy with their car...?
With thoughts of a G29 still prevalent i was just wondering if owners in here are happy with their cars despite the odd problems we’ve heard about..? I’m guessing yes overall but interested to hear any views if you would buy another or any regrets etc, any thoughts most welcome.
I thank you.

Totally happy with my G29. Probably the best BM I’ve owned and easily the best Z. Ticks all the boxes for me as very refined as a GT car and a lot of fun in Sports Plus. The engine and gearbox in the M40i are an absolute joy!
Biggest regret is that I’m not driving it across the Alps to Italy and home via the South of France! This was planned for last couple of weeks in June but fingers crossed It’ll happen later in the year.

Totally happy with my M40i. Have owned all three generations in various power outputs and I love the drive of the new model. Had a couple of issues with mirrors playing up , cracked screen (Stone thrown by passing lorry) and Idrive losing Spotify but all sorted and working like a dream.

Very happy with my M40i, no issues. Engine and gearbox great, balance and solid feel around corners exceptional in my view for an open top. Money well spent in the development stage.

More than happy with my M40i so no regrets, although I've had a few software related issues, but nothing so far to spoil the experience. Its a great solid fun car to drive, with a fantastic engine, gearbox and exhaust sound. Can't wait to put some miles on my baby

With mine being booked into see BMW on the 17 the for some software related issues, I am loving mine. It looks great, goes like mad and makes a nice noise. It’s modern and spacious and on a recent run to see some relatives (all social distancing of course) it returned 34.8mpg on the run. I thought that was pretty good.
Having PPF for the front section next week and then I can’t wait to do a road trip to see friends in Germany when we can.

Im using the car as a daily driver and i'm very happy with the car itself i have about 15k km on it and so far no real problems.
I'm having some issues with the satnav in dutch, the problem is present in all new models and bmw belgium is not really doing anything to resolve the problem, so that kind of sucks.
Other than that the car is a joy to drive even during wintertime. I'm looking forward to the end of all the corona stuff so i can go test it out in Germany

Yep, delighted with mine. It's a mere 20i but has all the bells and whistles of the M40i so it's just what I want. The power and acceleration are enough for me.
If there is a slight niggle it's with the lane departure warning. I managed to turn off the part that shakes the steering wheel and attempts to steer the car back into lane (bloody dangerous IMO) but I still get a warning light on the dash telling me I've strayed out of lane when (usually) I havent. Annoys the hell out of me!

Overall, I am very happy with the car. It drives beautifully, is very comfortable and sounds great.
What spoils it for me is two very niggling problems; stones getting stuck in the front brakes and the need to replace the key fob batteries every 3-4 months.

Why does that happen? I have my car for 7 months now without issues ? Do you store your keys in close proximity to the car?

No, I keep them well away from the car. Earlier on I used to keep the keys at the entry to the garage, about 6ft away. After the first couple of battery changes I moved the keys well out of range of the car. I have raised this issue with BMW UK and await their response. Will let you know the outcome.

Agree with all the positive comments here. It's a fantastic car. The only problem I have experienced is an intermittent weather app; it stops occasionally and then starts again a few days later!

Thanks very much for the replies chaps, nice to see so much positivity for the car despite the niggles. Especially good to hear no one regrets the purchase, says a lot really.
Hopefully soon I’ll be an owner too, very much looking forward to it if all goes to plan.

My software version is 07.2019 and I don't have the Spotify app installed on the iDrive. I believe Spotify doesn't come until software version 11.2019.70 upgrade? I was wondering if you currently have the Spotify app installed on your iDrive? I would also be interested to know if the dealer upgrades the software to 03.2020 which I believe is the latest version. From what I have read, this version upgrade should also sort out my software gremlins, so would appreciate your thoughts, especially if you notice any improvements to sound the quality from the Harman Kardon system.
