M40i price up by almost £2k

Post by Jim S » Wed Apr 22, 2020 1:46 pm

I see that BMW has recently increased the prices on their range of new cars. By my calculations the increase on the M40i is almost £2000. Just wondering how many they are likely to sell at that price. I suppose it all depends upon what discounts the dealers offer.

Still enjoying my car. If only BMW would come up with a solution to the front M Sport brakes problem (stones) it would be perfect. :driving:

Still way cheaper than here, a well specced M40i will set you back around 70 to 80,000€. Expect to pay around 60 to 70,000€ with discounts. Still heck of lot more than what you would pay in the UK.

I got Bridgegate in Chesterfield down to 47k for a fully optioned M40i last November, list was £55.5k.

I had hoped they might be knocking a bit more off after Covid to encourage sales again....guess not... :(

The BMW operational model is now built on producing volume and they'll do all they can to protect their market share. There will be massive promotions post covid on these cars...possibly even going as far as losing money on sales over that first 6 months. The appetite for mid-market £50k 2 seaters simply won't be there IMO, so I'm guessing there will be £15k+ off a new M40.

We recently bought a Neff oven - Paid for it one day and the next day the price had gone up by 26% - I checked other retailers and all were the same - It was at Brexit time. Makes you wonder eh?

So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

Will never see 30% discounts - around 20% max.

You're getting over 20% off offers on the M4 Conv right now on the BMW website, that's without dealer additions and a market that's going to drop like a balloon once the government payments stop.

M4's have been horrendous for depreciation at the best of times..

Oldbury BMW offered me a 2016 plate comp pack M4 with 29k miles for £30k... Thats done best part of £40k in 4 years i imagine.

Could be a good time to buy a Zed if you intend on keeping it long term......
