A few layers of clear coat and a polish will finish the job nicely. :poke:

Applied with a light emery paper or wire wool for best results :P

I also considered a dual action rotary polisher and some wire wool but i decided on this stuff instead:

https://gyeonquartz.com/product/matte/

The kit contains a foam pad and several small cloths. You wrap a cloth over the foam pad and use it to apply the coating from the small bottle half a panel at a time.
Once it starts to 'flash' give it a wipe with a microfibre cloth and check that any residue has been removed.

A couple of days later, give it a wipe over with the milky stuff from the larger bottle and it is done.

It's a really easy process and the finish is superb. The surface goes very slippery without any gloss.

For the roof I've used the Autoglym kit in the past. To prevent getting it on the windows and bodywork I pour some of the bottle into a bowl and use a paint brush for the edges of the roof. It ends up very waterproof - water beads for at least 3-months after.

I have a Frozen Orange First Edition and was concerned about caring for matte paint having read a few scare stories. However, I have to say that it’s probably easier to look after than gloss finish and is less time consuming. Obviously, major blemishes can’t be polished out as with a normal paint finish but the fact that the car has a matte finish, means you’re not constantly striving for the perfect, all over shine. As long as you use the right products in the right way it should be quicker to clean and maintain. The following method with the specific matte products works well for me:

Use a two bucket wash system with grit guards. Autoglym Pure Shampoo works great and has no additives that will add shine. I then use Autoglym Rapid Aqua Wax whilst the car is wet and spread with one microfibre a then dry with another. Any dust and blemishes are easily taken care of between washes with Nanolex Final Finish detailer. When I first brought the car home I also used Dr Beasley’s Matte Paint Cleanser followed by a Matte Paint Coating. Very easy to apply and provides paint protection. I plan to cleanse and coat again in spring.

I’ve added a couple of photos that hopefully shows how good matte paint can look. It got a clean last week and the matte finish looked fabulous in the low winter sun. Orange or Grey, I think both matte colours look great!

I read this again and again on the forum - how well the top gets waterproofed and how it 'beads'.
And yet reading other information (specifically for the E85, so I'm not sure if it's still relevant for the G29) the soft top roof is multi-layer and the top layer is supposed to breathe so it doesn't dry out/crack (and I suspect helps inhibit mould/mildew but I can't find anything to back that up).
I would be very surprised if the G29 roof didn't follow the same multi-layer approach, so allowing the top layer to breathe would be an important part of the upkeep of it. It has been an ongoing debate - (to waterproof it or not) for a long time, almost as important as the stubby/whippy debate  .
There's a good guide here on soft top cleaning: viewtopic.php?t=37412

Autoglym kit for the roof. Comes with two bottles and the applicator and makes water bead very well.
Just make sure you cover and don’t get it on the glass.

As for frozen grey. You can’t do much to it apart from wash it and dry it. Look for special matte paint products and nothing with shine or gloss enhancers. Ensure any bugs or bird poo are removed immediately.
It looks good but my ocd would be on overdrive living with a frozen colour.
