At least it's a bone to throw for the g29 owners. Whether it's true or not there won't be that many that care as the fanboys of the Supra will be happy with the upgrade capability of the Z4. The Z4 owners will be too busy doing their nails or something to notice a new Supra engine.

I'm in the don't care side of things and only posted it for anyone interested.

Not going to watch this, but I’d love to be true. Presumably it’s almost drop-in and is quite boosty, so can only make the Supra even better.

Perhaps too many people in the market for a sub-£100k “sports car” will consider this as a rival to the the M2 CS and G8x M3 for BMW to price the engine favourably?

The GR Yaris doesn’t make a lot of sense either though, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hi skelters ..it wasn’t a put down, just can’t see bmw who have publicly inferred that this is the last Z4 that they are going to spend any great effort to improve /extend the limited sales..save that of maybe some cosmetic makeover..I doubt even that..I wish I was delivering a different message but if people want to dream I guess i shouldn’t piss on their bonfire...can we have an emoji for that pls?

If the g29 is the last two seater convertible from BMW they might just make an M version to go out in style. With almost 500bhp and twin turbos it might be too tempting for BMW. We will need to wait and see.

How accurate those figures are I have no idea.

Instead of an M version they'd probably be better redesigning the front end as Pbondar said!

Going out in style is not a trademark of a Teutonic bunch of bean counters..imho ...maybe Ferrari in its day or Alfa Romeo but not BMW...

End games from mass marketeers is ‘limited edition’ etc with maybe a new paint job or even some seats and wheels as standard..

It'll be a special edition, with wings, face lift, raised suspension, fully electric, amphibious, 4 x 4.

Can't really be any uglier than anything they've made since 2009.
