Normally I'd agree gloss paint finish is much better on most cars but sometimes matt really works and on the G29 I actually think the matt suits it well and shows off the lines even better than the gloss finish. If I was ordering my first choice would be Frozen Grey followed by SF Red (I am bit of a sucker for red cars!). Here in Spain you don't get to see many Z4s of any model but the other day I got my first glimpse of a Black G29 on the motorway in Marbella, I have to say the rear looks really good, the side is ok but the front I am not so sure but probably it will grow on me with time. The M40i here with a few options comes to around 80 to 90K Euros before discounts!ErrErrminator wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 9:13 pm These are definitely growing on me. Nice to see some is gloss paint finish too. Shows off the lines so much better. I just don’t get matt finish paint on any car.

That's interesting, I am a great "Blue" fan myself. Although I live in Scotland, I regularly travel down to the Etihad to watch Man City. In fact my wife and I are registered supporters (Cityzens). My local team is Glasgow Rangers, also Blue, but I have followed City from way back in the late 60's. I have tickets for the Man City v Man Utd Carabao Cup Semi Final game next Wednesday and will be there with my wife.Obs-Com wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 1:56 amCheers Jim. My Dealer told me that all 30 of the UK allocation had been sold. My next choice was a toss-up between Misano Blue and San Francisco Red, both of which are also very nice and show off the lines of the car very well. In the end I decided on Misano Blue and have no regrets.Obs-Com wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 10:45 am
I must admit to liking a nice shine to my cars and you’re right, the car looks great. However, I must say that I now get Matt paint (especially Frozen Orange) as it looks absolutely stunning IMO on the G29. Not sure the following photos fit the thread as background not too special and I must take some proper pics over the coming weeks, but does show some of the lines of the G29 even in Matt.

I think a total number of 44 First Editions came to the UK and most were pre registered by dealers. Current numbers show 43 being registered and 1 SORN. There’s not many M40i around - 383 registered and 11 SORN. G29 3.0 shows 298 and 6 SORN and 2.0 195 and 1 SORN.
With numbers so low it’s got to be worth a nod or a wave when passing other G29’s!

A true blue in more ways than one Jim! We should forget the G29 nod or wave and settle for a chorus of “Blue Moon”!Jim S wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 12:47 pmThat's interesting, I am a great "Blue" fan myself. As I’m sure you know as a “Blue”, City being 3-1 up at the halfway point used to be a cause for major concern. They had a special ability to throw away games they should easily win. Fingers crossed those days are gone (hope I’m not tempting fate) and the Carabao should hopefully give us our first chance of silverware. After all, beating the less than mediocre United should be straightforward, right??!!
A photo of a G29 with the Etihad in the background would fit this thread perfectly. Enjoy your next trip to the true home of Manchester football.

Yes, that would make a great photo and an ideal addition to this thread. However, we are taking my wife's Qashqai (also Blue) this time. Maybe take the Zed next time when the weather improves. You could take a photo of your car with the Etihad in the background - that would be great and I would love to see it.Obs-Com wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 9:28 pmA true blue in more ways than one Jim! You are right about City capitulating in the past. I was at the derby game two years ago when a win would give City the Premier League title. Two up at half time and lost 2-3 in the end. What a bummer. Don't think this will happen this time, let's hope so anyway.

Just go for it John. The M40i is a dream to drive; very quick, comfortable and sounds great. I love my car in spite of the problems I have had with the brakes.

Totally agree. The more I drive the M40i the more I like it. It really does tick all the boxes and I really like the Frozen Orange Matt finish.
No problems other than one wheel squeal issue last week and now we know about this we can keep an eye on it.

Another one agreeing here. I got it back from being detailed and ceramic coated yesterday and it looks better than when I picked it up. Drove home in manual mode in sport all the way home. It’s so fast and I love it more and more. Now on 1137 miles and can’t wait for summer.
