G29 glitch?
The 'lane departure system' on my G29 works oddly.
It should be possible to disable the 'steering intervention', but on my car the behaviour is erratic and often the intervention comes in to play when it should be turned off. I just went out for a test drive with a technician from the dealers and he has confirmed that it doesn't seem to be working correctly. He's going to try it out in another G29 and report the issue to BMW.
Any body else encountered this?

Interesting. I've not turned the system off, but I have changed it to minimal intervention...it seems to work as it should. If I get a moment over the weekend, I will test.dr_john wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 4:42 pm The 'lane departure system' on my G29 works oddly.

I have also switched off the steering intervention and, so far, it has remained that way. However, I have noticed some other settings "disappearing" randomly, eg the HUD height setting and the driver seat heating auto on setting.

It can be found by pressing the MENU A/C button. It has an obscure name but from memory I think it is the third item down from the top. Tick the driver seat heating box and set what temperature you want it to come on. 10 Deg C, 50 Deg F is the default. Hope this helps.

That system really disturbed me when I test drove one - at low speed it was ok, but with it on, pressing on and cutting corners I suddenly had to fight with the wheel. Logically I should have expected it, but I didn’t as I have never driven a car with that tech. Eventually I stopped and spent 5mins figuring it out... after that it stayed off, but I was only driving it for 30mins.

That's my problem too, I don't feel comfortable having to fight the wheel. I don't mind the vibration in the steering wheel but steering 'correction' is another matter.Bing wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2019 2:28 pm That system really disturbed me when I test drove one - at low speed it was ok, but with it on, pressing on and cutting corners I suddenly had to fight with the wheel. I was out this morning in the car and it stayed off all of the journey, despite some testing. I'm glad the BMW guy witnessed it yesterday otherwise I'd be wondering if I'd imagined it.

Had a look at my car. The menu item is called Climate Control Regulation (or something like that) and it is the 4th item on the MENU A/C. It fires up an app and then the settings appear. Strange, but it works.millview22 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2019 3:24 pmThanks...Jim S wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2019 1:51 pmIt can be found by pressing the MENU A/C button.
