So I didn’t even drive the car...as I the colour combo is not nice (sorry)..
however I did walk away with an order for a Frozen Grey with options and a very good deal...
The dealership were very good and no nonsense.
Should get it in a couple of weeks.

Good choice. I think the blue with red interior is a very brave choice and not something that would appeal to many. I ended up choosing black with the blue exterior as I wasn't sure about the other colours.
Anyway, Pictures are required when you get the new one!

Same here - blue with black interior. I get lots of admiring looks and comments.

They had a Blue / Black i20 in the showroom - it really made the decision much easier not to go for the pre reg Blue / Red that I had the deposit on.

Another new low for the M40i - £33,295 with 1215 miles in the usual Tech + Comfort pack spec...

With E89s still being touted at £21k for a 2015/2016 model it’s a strange world...

Wbac - have just offered £18.7k for my very low miles high spec 35is (Sept 2016) Needless to say I'm not selling it
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

£17k off list..not as fast as your 35is was..still fairly quick..Stevo1987 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 6:23 pm Is this a good buy? https://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/2019 ... 51ad91e367
Its a marmite car, some will love it, the faithful generally decry it, its your boat, you should float it..go and look at a G29 in detail and importantly take the same model for a test drive, not a 20i nor a 40i..
Given your history / experiences that, IMHO is the best way forward..
A bit worrying that they can't fill the technical details in correctly , but heh its a BMW dealer
Technically it should benefit from all the knowledge on the N20 engine so should be bullet proof, the ZF box is..
30 months warranty should alleviate SWMBO fears!!

It's a good price but I reckon a £34K M40i will hold it's extra £3k for a good few years, meaning it won't actually cost you anything more.Stevo1987 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 6:23 pm Is this a good buy? https://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/2019 ... 51ad91e367
So unless you're planning to keep the car forever a cheap M40i is probably a better buy.
I thought it's the B48 engine in that, same as the F56 MINI Cooper S but with a bit more power?

I'm due at the dealer tomorow to drop off the spare key for my soon to be ex-Z. They have one there so I'll take a look. I will hold off for a few weeks before I do anything just to make sure I know how I feel about buying another car that I don't really need.

Yes it is the B48,,my reference to the N20 was its predecessor..the point was the N20 was first of a radically new design (for BMW), the B48 is the follow up with the collective benefit of hindsight so should have less bugs!..here's hoping!J400uk wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 6:45 pmIt's a good price but I reckon a £34K M40i will hold it's extra £3k for a good few years, meaning it won't actually cost you anything more.Stevo1987 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 6:23 pm Is this a good buy? https://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/2019 ... 51ad91e367
