This one seems priced pretty aggressively https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 6149009278
Its still mostly just the original dealer launch cars for sale, they're all the same spec with Tech and Comfort packs. 6-months old now with varying mileages.
Interestingly the ex-BMW UK launch cars on 68 plates are priced slightly higher albeit tend to be lower mileage. These are from before the Z4 officially went on sale, but likely will have just been sat in Thorne for most their life. Chandlers Hailsham have a set of 4 and there will be quite a few more:
Once all the launch cars are gone it will be interesting to see if prices firm up, but at the moment they do seem to be in a slight state of freefall. Similar story with the new 8-series, you can now pick up a lightly used launch 840d for the same money as the Z4 M40i lists at new.

I've not seen one yet that does anything for me other than make me appreciate my E89 even more.

Let's be all honest here, it's nothing we didn't predict. It's an awful looking car today, and won't age well....and I'm guessing the demand for these has been ridiculously low.....WE ARE THE TARGET AUDIENCE...and hardly anyone on here actually wants one of these. Says it all really.

Sales figures (only seem to be available up to Oct this year) are increasing, and I'm not sure a car enthusiasts' forum of previous models is the target audience. A bit early to be sounding the death knell only a few months into production.Angelus666 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 6:09 pm Let's be all honest here, it's nothing we didn't predict. Motoring journalism seems to be a combination of tea-leaf reading and a feeling in the writer's waters so I find it hard to rely on them for predictions. They were scathing of the Bangle influenced E85, but now are saying how well it's aged, so the mostly positive reviews of the G29 should be a good sign, but who knows...? I've just read one article saying how BMW is going to scrap multiple models (including the Z4) due to financial difficulties, followed immediately by another article saying how 2019 has seen record sales for BMW .
"It's an awful looking car today, and won't age well" - was most likely said about the 1st gen Z4, and definitely about the E89. Maybe the G29 owner's are just quicker to appreciate something new than the rest of us holding onto our outdated, deteriorating versions?

I do laugh at some of the comments on here about the G29. Having owned 2 e89s which I loved, I can honestly say that the G29 is light years ahead and is a sensational looking car only rivalled possibly by the Z4M coupe imho. I absolutely love my G29 and the comments I get about it from non forum people are always positive.
BMW didn’t build this car just for previous Z owners. It has a wider appeal.

I'm sorry, but to say it's a sensational looking car is a bit of a stretch. It looks new, I'll give it that, but sensational...I've not read one journalists comment that comes even close to that - and if you look at it's competitors (TT and Boxter) they are far better looking cars imho and from what the reviews say, a much better drive.NewZdriver wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 9:39 pm I do laugh at some of the comments on here about the G29. And to put it in the same class as the Z4M Coupe.
That all said, having been up close and personal with a few now they do at least have a certain uniqueness about them.

Out of curiosity, what do you consider to be a sensational looking car?
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

In the world of £50-70k motoring, then a lightly used Merc GTS, Jag F Type coupe, Cayman and now a M4 CS would all look way more sensational than the G29
It’s such a shame, as the concept was such a sensational looking car

So since I've had mine I've only had 'Wow!' comments by everyone who's seen it up close. Yes, they aren't everyone's taste in the styling and Yes, they aren't a market segment which everyone will want but then that just makes the Z4, no matter which model, more desirable in my eyes.
Having owned several models across all three generations, I have to say the G29 is the most comfortable and best handling version I have owned. I love the styling and the wider interior and up to date IDrive funcionality.
Current car market is for SUV and family cars. There simply isn't the money around at the moment for vanity cars just now. I'm fortunate that I don't require more than two seats and I love the roof coming off.
I'm just happy that BMW chose to bring a new model to market. They knew it wouldn't be a massive seller and so did the shared model with Toyota. We should all be pleased that they did, because the alternative is just boring domestic appliances designed for the biggest audience and not something that you can look forward to driving each time to sit in it.
ALL IMHO.

You should only compare lightly use G29 with your choices!
A lightly used M40i - G29 is only £35k not the £50/70k
I would say at that price they are a very attractive package.
