The colour is absolutely brilliant definitely the best option there
For me though that front end is just bulbous :(

Congratulations on your new z. While I wouldn't mind the engine dropped into my E85 I'm not a fan of this cars looks, nor was I impressed by the E89, especially the back end of both of these. I guess I'm kinda out of touch with the new shapes evolving in the roadster designs at BMW I keep expecting the cars to get more mean and sporty looking, instead they seem to edge closer to hybrids of roadsters and family saloons :| . I'm sure it's a blast when you put your foot down though.

Looks great OP the car is really growing on me. The colour of that is epic. A slatted set of kidneys though would finish it off IMO. Enjoy :driving:

Just read above about stones being caught in the tyres, for E89 owners my rear tyres are now Asymm. 3's, they seem to have larger gaps in the tyres than Asymm. 2's.

Got another stone strapped in my front driver side brake disc today. Second time this week and I only got the car 6 days ago. Seems to be a design problem as the same thing happened to the only other M40i car sold by my local dealer. Not something you can fix without a car jack to take the wheel off. Not a good start to ownership of this car.

I have been driving on main roads, not back roads or dirt tracks where you might expect problems like this. Not good.

Affects the M2, M3 and M4 a lot as well - possibly also other models with performance brakes. The fix that works 80% of the time is to reverse quite quickly and brake hard a few times.

Had the same happen to mine today, sounded terrible! Is it worth taking it back to the dealers? Definitely seems like it may be a design flaw...

The Service Manager at my local dealer told me today when I took the car in for the second time in 3 days that there is no fix for the problem. Clearly there is a design issue that BMW should be addressing. Only two M40i's have been sold by my dealer and both have had the same issue and now you are experiencing it as well. When I was there today I asked the SM to feed back the problem to BMW as this is not acceptable and they should be coming up with some solution. I will let you know if he comes back with anything.
I think you should also ask your SM to feed the issue back to BMW for a solution as it is clearly a design fault on this model. I am also hearing from others on the forum that this is a known problem on the M2, M3 and M4 as well.

BMW 4 series convertibles can be specced with it,
is it not an option on the new Z??

Saw one at the local dealers last week and think it much nicer in the flesh , but not so sure with the roof up. The interior looks like it’s step up again
