Photoshop tweak to the Z4...
Had a play with photoshop
The lights on the concept looked a bit more agressive and the bonnet line tweak makes the hood longer and more flowing, also I think the concept grill had more detail ..enjoy!

That’s like playing spot the difference.
Same car from 20 feet away.

Does look better - more of an improvement on this than earlier models (there’s a crease there already) -but you’ll need a new, £1500 bonnet after every car park prang.
Biggest improvement would be to pull the overhangs in by about 4 inches!

Hate to say it but i think that front lower bumper on these cars just looks ridiculous.
Don't think car safety would allow a bonnet shut to be right at the front.

A friend of mine was part of the team working on the design of the new Z4 and what he had to say was very interesting. The reason the front is so bulbous and overhanging is that when it became a joint project with Toyota, the two teams met with their concepts and Toyota's hardpoints were that much higher and further forward than BMW's. BMW then ended up having to compromise the front of their car to suit the new Supra, the rear of the car however is more BMW's design although it sounds like they'd have preferred to get the car lower overall.

Well the front does look very Japanese 'Transformer' look, i suppose they think it will appeal to that generation.
If the previous didn't sell well to a mixed generation, i guess they are trying for a younger market.

Interesting facts to know. Alas it doesn't help the awkward front end, knowing it should have been better, but was compromised.Player 1 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 7:47 am A friend of mine was part of the team working on the design of the new Z4 and what he had to say was very interesting. Whoever is first to 3D print a more traditional pair of slatted kidney grilles will make a killing!

Unfortunately not, although does explain it better than blaming pedestrian impact rules etc that I had previously thought. Amusingly they did originally have some funky interior door handles that involved pulling the entire grab handle, it looked great on paper although in reality he said it'd jam your hand in and bend backwards as the door openedbuzyg wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 7:58 pmInteresting facts to know. The Supra looks like it might have have a higher scuttle (or more heavily raked bonnet) and sort of gets away with it.

So, if the underpinnings of the two cars are identical, how long will it be before a wealthy car nut buys both the supra and the z4, and swaps body panels.. and ends up with a coupe Z4 and a convertible supra..
Now thats a photoshop project for someone..
