850i grill on G29
I thought I saw my first new G29 and was blown away by how pretty it was, and without the stupid polka dot grill too. Only after did I realise I was looking at an 8-series
But it got me thinking, is it just a replacement grill that would fix the front of the new G29?

I think the grill is ok but wonder why BMW felt the need to copy Mercedes.

Actually you have a point, makes the front less fussy...

Won’t be long before after market company’s offer a different grill.
Then bmw will sort for the LCI revisions.

This new car looks just like their other saloons. At least the E89 looked different and therefore something new.
Before i bought my E89 i couldn't have told you one BMW from another, they all look the same.
But when i saw one on a car park i thought, well that's different, what is it.
And the E89 is still a car you feel self conscious in, as people do look.
To me the design studio was told, make it look like the E85, that sold well, but keep the modern BMW family look.
The rear looks a bit like Lotus Elan.
And you get what happens when cousins marry and have kids.

The E85 was deliberately targeted at male purchasers. The E89 at female. I was unexpectedly told the whole background by a senior BMW exec in a German bar late one night, hence why I don't remember the finer details !

What were they thinking, something like 1 in 20 if that are female two seat car drivers and they would probably prefer a Mazda.
Never liked the Merc two seaters always reminded of Benidorm over tanned retiree granny spending the hubby life insurance payout.
