Oh yes, that's very nice. I wouldn't be in the market for one for a very long time but it's definitely a good looking motor

Only went BMW Zed because of hard top. Wouldn't even consider a soft top.
Some where is a review of F type in USA, very low sales.

Each to their own. I for instance, would never consider a folding hard top.
Unless it was lighter than a soft top.

I would never have considered a folding hard top either.

With a 3 litre turbo charged engine I don't think many would notice the difference between the weight of a soft or hard top to be honest. I would think the same applies to a 2 litre zed? On a track day you may notice a tenth or so but day to day running????

You're completely missing the point. It's the corners and interaction with the machine, that make driving a car worth while. IMHO. So keeping the C of G low is more important than keeping the rain out. The body has more than enough rigidity with the roof down.

Very nice. They seem to be pushing every angle up to 10 with each model. Wonder if they've spoilt it with the rear though?

I owned a e36 325i cabrio with a soft top roof and due to that I will never buy a soft top car again. This is personal preference and is not an attack on any soft top lovers out there.
I never said that it will fall to bits? I'm not sure where that's coming from? but it does eventually fade in the sun that's just fact. Perhaps it will take a bit longer for you guys in the UK due to it being a much colder climate when compared to places like South Africa but it will fade eventually and where the hard metal ribs that form its shell meet the fabric it eventually causes fraying to happen and it starts to look tatty.
Boot space being a concern with regards to a hard top makes no sense. The E89 has a massive boot for a convertible when being compared to the previous Z4 E85 with a soft top. Even when the roof is down the boot space is big for a convertible.
All I am saying is that it would seem they have gone backwards with regards to design. Hard top looks more modern any which way you look at it.

From my experience, I would said completely the opposite!
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

Definitely not the opposite, my buddy owns the soft top e85 z4m and his boot is very small in comparison, I should have taken some photos while I was at his house yesterday. Next time I will do a side by side comparison.

E89 - with roof stowed is 130l /4.6cu ft
E85 288l / 10.2 cu ft minus 0.7 cu ft when roof stowed.
The two suitcases I bought for my E85 won’t fit in my Current E89
These are Internet figures and they do vary a little but show a trend.
I’ve never considered the boot capacity important with the roof is in position.

The E85 Z4M has the battery sitting in the boot space putting an awkward rectangular box right where you'd want to stow your second luggage bag.sachak wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2018 4:16 pmDefinitely not the opposite, my buddy owns the soft top e85 z4m and his boot is very small in comparison, I should have taken some photos while I was at his house yesterday. I hear your argument but I think with adaptive sports suspension I think the C of G is less of an issue if an issue at all.buzyg wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2018 8:47 pmYou're completely missing the point.
