Shame indeed ,Brian cherished that car, when he sold it the condition was excellent

Had it been an auto i wudda bought it off him no problem.

I am that chap. Just to set the record straight here.
The door handle didnt work correctly when I purchased the car and I never got around to sorting it.
The electronic steering was faulty when I bought it and I gave up trying to sort it.
The only lights on the dash when it left me was a ABS light and Syntners were aware and accepted the car with this fault even though I was prepared to get the front N/S sensor replaced.
The stone chipped front bumper (which was replaced before I purchased ther car) was, by advice of a local body shop, poorly resprayed in their opinion.
Under my ownership the following (necessary work) was carried out.
New thermostat
New battery
New pulleys and belts
CCV replaced
Main vacuum hose replaced
New front disks and pads
Head Gasket replaced
As for the body work, I did a little over 3k in the car over 2 years, with the exception of the front valance the body work was in the same condition as when I bought it, it needed mopping then and it still needed mopping when I sold it. There was NO scapes or damage, the car has sat outside in a compound at the BMW dealers for over 2 months (it never sat outside during my ownership nor the previous owners) I can only imagine the state its in or whats hit it.
As for servicing, a few months before it left me it had a full service including plugs, gearbox and diff oils.
You can be assured the car left me in better condition than when I recieved it.
In those 2 years I spent over £3000 on the car and decided to call it a day as it needed far more spent on it, and I just didnt like it enough to do it.
Just to add I purchased the car over the phone untried and untested and only seen once at a meet, at my own risk. This post is not in any way a dig or complaint about the previous owner, just a defense of myself from people who are not in possession of the facts and therefore are not in a position to judge or make ill-informed comment.
BTW shiny paint does NOT make a car excellent!
