Currently one on auction on eBay. Any guesses to the final selling price?

Edit - just seen this is already being discussed on the main E85/86 board.

It's a strange selling process, Im in the same city and wanted to checkout the car, but it is only availble for inspection/drive by the winner and after this they can decide if they want to buy or if it goes back to auction.Sandman77 wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2019 9:24 am Currently one on auction on eBay. Read the reviews of carswithnoreservereading on pistonheads and other places. It's really not the place for a car like this!Sandman77 wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2019 9:24 am Currently one on auction on eBay. Any guesses to the final selling price?

Certainly a strange way to sell, I wouldn't be bidding unless I had been able to inspect the car first.Aus_Pol wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2019 9:36 amIt's a strange selling process, Im in the same city and wanted to checkout the car, but it is only availble for inspection/drive by the winner and after this they can decide if they want to buy or if it goes back to auction.Sandman77 wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2019 9:24 am Currently one on auction on eBay. Looks like the blue one for £18,000 has disappeared off autotrader.

Had my handbrake adjusted the other day at BMR, who were a great bunch of mechanics and very reasonable. They told me 35 left in the UK? Does anyone know if that's true?

I can't find it on how-many-left, does anyone have concrete numbers on this?

Perry would have the best idea I'd imagine. I'm not sure how you'd find out really as not many go to main dealers for servicing, not everyone is on here or on the Alpina register. You may be able to ask DLVA how many Alpina Roadsters have been taxed within the last 12 months, under the 'freedom of information' act.motoroller wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 9:59 am I can't find it on how-many-left, does anyone have concrete numbers on this?
I can vouch that #019 is alive and well and still in my possession.

I respectfully submit that they haven't got a bloody clue what they're on about....
We've had 43 unique cars for sale spotted for this thread alone over the last couple of years and I have details of well over 100 that I know are still in 'active' use and have heard of only a handful that have either been written off or exported to mainland Europe
If I had to hazard an 'educated guess' I'd put the number that are still in the UK, either on-road or SORN'd, at over 150

Sadly this was Brian (Zedwheels) car. #105
https://www.thealpinaregister.com/forum ... 57&t=23637
A friend of mine's partner works for Sytner and she took it home one evening for him to try. He was thorughly disappointed in the state of it and how much needed doing. They offered it to him (staff discounted) at £8k. He offered them £5k and they refused. I then heard this week that they achieved £6.6k at auction having sorted a few issues on it prior to sale.
This well maintained Alpina roadster does have a couple of minor cosmetic marks but nothing that detracts from its impressive, sporty appearance. There are light bramble scratches along the near side that will MOP out, a small scuff on the near side corner of the front bumper by the number plate, some stone-chipping to the rear edges of the lower plastic sill trims/ covers just ahead of both rear wheels, a couple of light surface scratches on the off side of the boot lid that will flat and polish out, some light surface scratches on the centre section of the rear bumper where items have been loaded in and out of the boot, a small scratch on the near side corner of the rear bumper, the lower section of the front bumper is quite chippy, the near side headlight doesn't fit as close to the bumper as the off side headlight so may some adjusting/ fettling (see last photos) and on start-up the car show minus 450 miles to inspection service,
He also said the door handle didnt work and the dash lit up like a Xmas tree.
Such a shame as I know Brian had it tip-top 2 years ago and it was his Pride & Joy

This car was also well maintained with the zorg owner, there was a lot that needed doing when he bought it . My understanding is Brian just liked to poddle when he owned it. Also the HG went and was replaced very recently (diagnosed by MrVanos), It does also have an ABS issue that's been intermittent. So I know this car has had 3/4K spent on it and does need another 3/4K spent. All the shocks are tired along with the bushes. I've personally driven this car and worked on it, hopefully someone gives it a clean bit of health.Number5 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 8:58 am Sadly this was Brian (Zedwheels) car. #105

One mans tip top is another man's average.
