While looking for one, I’ve seen that this was sold at auction for 17.5, so I expect they just want to break even on it. They may be sitting on it for a while.

No 184 is up for 13,995 at the moment, autotrader.

RSOwner: A very beautiful car (#98). She will continue to be looked after, that’s a promise.

Saw this earlier as well. £19750 seems a fairly strong ask, particularly for a non Lux model.

There you go, I've done the honours for you. :D It's not on our register as having been to market in recent years.

It looks very original with no mods.

What exactly does 'Lux' give you that this one doesn't have?

Hi derin100
Below are the differences as listed in the Alpina registers review of the car in 2004.

"The car comes in two guises: standard and lux pack. The lux pack costs an additional £3950, for that you get £5500 worth of extras: Park distance control; wind deflector; Isofix child seat preparation (the passenger air bag can be disable by a button on the centre console); Xenon headlights; Cruise control; Satellite navigation; bluetooth phone prep; 6-CD changer; Headlamp washers; ALPINA Leather dash and doortrims; multi-function steeringwheel; and ALPINA 19 inch wheels."

I think that the differences seem to be fairly minimal and as would appear from this car an original purchaser could spec the car to their tastes as this one appears to have cruise control but no nav etc.

Please do your own research and act with care and precaution when dealing with J17 cars. I have a terrible time when trying to buy a Porsche early 2018 so much so that I pulled out.

When launched, the extra £4k cost of the Lux pack included ~£5500 of extra kit

ALPINA wind deflector
Isofix
Xenons
Cruise
Professional Nav
Bluetooth
6-CD
Headlamp washers
ALPINA leather dash and door trims
MFSW
ALPINA 19" wheels

However, the leather dash and door trims plus the 19" ALPINA wheels were standard for all UK cars... but you still had to pay £4k for the rest of the lux pack

In June 2005, Alpina announced that, from that point, they were increasing the standard equipment to include

Climate Control Air Conditioning
Special ALPINA Extended Leather
19” ALPINA DYNAMIC Wheels
6 CD Changer
Cruise Control
Park Distance Control
Multi-function Steering Wheel

So, from the Lux-pack items, that only left

ALPINA wind deflector
Isofix
Xenons
Professional Nav
Bluetooth
Headlamp washers

so you got even less for your £4k Lux pack with the later cars

Thanks Perry. That's really informative. Mine is a 2005 car ('non-LUX') so it has all of those things i.e.:

Climate Control Air Conditioning
Special ALPINA Extended Leather
19” ALPINA DYNAMIC Wheels
6 CD Changer
Cruise Control
Park Distance Control
Multi-function Steering Wheel

But it also has the ALPINA Wind-deflector and the Headlamp washers. So, I think the only things it doesn't have then are the Xenons, SatNav and Bluetooth? I don't intend having anymore babies and certainly not putting one in the Alpina...but how do you tell if it has Isofix?
