Hi. I have me a new front badge for the roadster. Whats the best way to get the old one off and fit the new one? The badge has two tapered legs each side and a location leg top centre. There is no thread so whats holding the badge in place under the metal? :?

It's held by two 'nuts' that cut their own thread into the plastic posts - they're not really 'nuts' but I don't know what else to call them

- Pull out one of the kidney grills
- reach up behind the badge and you'll feel the posts with the nuts at the top
- you may be able to unscrew them by hand but, more likely, you'll need a small socket (I used a socket to grip them and found I could then unscrew them by hand)
- once both nuts are removed, the badge just lifts off
- clean area under badge
- fit new badge reusing 'nuts'

And the kidney grill is lift a bit - and pull straight out (from the top seems to work best).

Boot badge is friction fit, two posts on the badge slot into two rubber grommets/plugs in the boot skin - use a trim tool or old credit card to lever the badge up until you can get your fingers on it and then pull it out. Consider replacing the grommets/plugs at the same time - IIRC the OEM badge comes with new ones.

Badges on indicators are held on by double-sided tape, possible to replace in-situ but more convenient to work on if you remove the indicators first. Remove the indicators by gripping firmly and twisting (they can be stiff) and disconnecting from wiring loom, slice off the old badges using a stanley knife or cheese wire, clean up the indicator surface and fit new badges - OEM badges come with replacement double sided tape

NB While aftermarket badges are available, they are often of dubious quality. IMO, if you want them to last, stick with OEM

Front is held on by nuts, all is explained at the top of this thread
