Alpina steering - changes to standard z4?

Post by DaveD » Fri Mar 15, 2019 9:46 am

Hi guys

Is the alpina steering system any different to the electric steering on the normal z4? Is not, do you know what is different and in the experience of those who have tried normal z4 and alpina, does the latter feel better? Wondering if there is anything we can learn from the alpina set up to improve the electric system?

The Alpina steering system is identical to that of BMW.

The z4 M had hydraulic steering, surprised Alpina did't follow this route :)

Is it any better or just the same - bit twitchy and vague around dead centre? Thought they might have had a play with bushings or something?

The Alpine was pre facelift. Stopped production when the ///M came out. So tricky to follow suit.
