Who do you insure your Alpina with?
I'm looking for a new insurance policy for the Alpina. I basically want the cheapest, no frills policy I can find as I do next to no miles in this car.
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for the above?
Thanks in advance.

I use Admiral as part of a multi-car policy but they breakdown the cost per car.
Last year the Alpina was £123 (inc. protected no claims), on a 3k mile/year policy - I don't usually do more than about 1k/year but happy to have the flexibility to do more should I wish to

That's great Perry.
Thanks very much and I'll get on to them and see what they can do for me.

I'm with Admiral too but pay £9 more than PerryGunn! Going to have to negotiate harder at renewal to get down to that level

Is that as a single, one-off policy with them i.e. just that single car?
The reason I ask is that my wife (who isn't even going to be driving the Alpina) seems reluctant to do anything through Admiral because she says they were the one company that enquired about her attendance at a speed awareness course!

Even if that's the case, it costs nothing (other than your time) to get a quote from them....

I would have to agree with the above.
This is who we insured with through the BMWCC on a multi car policy after a few years with Admiral.
The cost for insuring the three cars, Alpina, E86 Coupe and the 3 series estate was a little over £100.00 dearer than with Admiral.
What swung it for me was having a dedicated number to call and someone that you had confidence in and be able to speak to that person consistently should you need to rather than A.N.other in a call centre, guaranteed OEM Parts for repairs etc, and using a garage/bodyshop of my choice etc. etc.

In the end, I've taken a policy with AIB. It was about £300 but because we have too many cars we'd run out of cars that NCB discount could be applied to. Assuming that you chaps with premiums around the £130 mark are able to be apply circa 50% NCB to your policies I guess it's about the same.
What we could have done is taken the NCB that applies to one of our E39s off it and have that applied to the Alpina but it was all getting a bit complicated and 'stressed' around here so this year at least for 'peace and calm', I've decided to cough up the extra. At least that will also act as an extra incentive for me to get the car out a bit and drive it this year!
