Seiko Astron. It even tells the proper time if you can remember the instruction manual.

Thank you. Yes, it is. The 3800 with the T SWISS T (tritium) dial is the one to buy. Just avoid the modern fashion items in jewellers' windows.

Should the 4 o'clock not be IV?

Edit. just looked at a load of Cartier watches and they are all IIII instead of IV.
It just looked a bit wrong and I hadn't seen that before.

Just about every dial with Roman numerals reads the 4 like this. Grandfather clock to nurses fob. The reason is it balances the symmetry of the 8 numerals.

I like that...

I'll get some more photos of some of my recent additions - none though quite in the same price bracket as some of these...

Some of the horologically most interesting and most enjoyable watches I have cost under a grand, sometimes well under. Very often, a high price has damn all to do with quality.

Busterboo, I really like your Brequet Type XX and would be interested in seeing some of your other watches. Any chance of seeing pics of your collection?

This is also a great watch. I have never considered a Yacht-Master until I read Jocke's wallpaper series. I am new to watch collecting and I spend hours picking through a minefield trying to find an older watch that I like. You have shown me two. Keep 'em coming.
