Lets see your Watches
I came into a little money from my grandfather and saved this for some time with the intention of spending it on a watch to remember him by. After nearly 4 years of patiently waiting, it seemed apt to treat myself for my 30th birthday - my first 'proper' watch - an Omega Speedmaster Professional. I do have the original 'Omega' strap, but love the various straps Bulang & Sons do so have a couple of those to use with the watch on a more regular basis

Classic - Speedmaster always looks great on the wrist (strap suits it well, good choice).Ed Doe wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 10:56 pm I came into a little money from my grandfather and saved this for some time with the intention of spending it on a watch to remember him by. I switched mine to a NATO not long after I got it (although the Omega bracelet is very comfortable)

Thanks chaps - enzed that looks like a speedy Tuesday? Very smart! I very nearly went for a speedy Tuesday myself but at the time it was a little more than I was conformable spending - and the one I was lokign at had white inset dials, but in the end I referred the more vintage look of the 'all black' dials. That nato looks well suited colour wise to yours - did it come with the watch or did you spruce it separately?

Thanks, I bought the NATO from Omega when I was in Hong Kong last year, it only came with the SS bracelet. The watch is the 'TinTin' model - I love the dial and the story behind the watch, so when the opportunity to get one and my birthday both coincided, it was a 'no-brainer' as they say

Thanks, i was an early fan of the Lum-tec brand, well the M tungsten range having owned an M6,7,25 and M26 GMT, shame they don’t do them anymore
Regarding the restoration job, that is an “A Schild”. It was my wife’s fathers. He bought two at the beginning of WW2, one for him and another for his wife, Carole found it in a draw a couple of years ago, non running, no second hand and the crystal missing. I sent it to Duncan who I knew from TZ and he really went to town on it, sourced a replacement hand from overseas, got a new crystal made, refurbed the dial and rebuilt the movement, In fact I was so amazed when I got it back I actually paid him more than he asked for as I thought he was under charging me!!!,. My wife actually was in tears when she saw it, below is a link to the rebuilt from Duncan’s site
