I haven't had any of mine serviced as they not old enough but Ive seen approved Omega servicing from £240 and £320 for chronographs. Omega want from £340 to £570 respectively depending on calibre etc, you then get a 2 year warranty, ihadablackdog wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 1:40 pm Do any of you get your watches serviced?
I have a Seamaster (Planet Ocean if that's relevant) from 2011 and they said it needed servicing after 8 years. It works ok, sometimes it looses time and others it's ok.
What sort of money is a general service (i.e. no problems are found) from Omega?

If you intend to keep the watch then go indie if you think you may sell in the future, then to achieve top dollar go OmegaZed Baron wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 3:46 pmI haven't had any of mine serviced as they not old enough but Ive seen approved Omega servicing from £240 and £320 for chronographs. Don't waste your money going to the AD for a service. Any good watchmaker can service these watches (which is why Rolex and many other brands are withholding parts. Don't believe any crock about preventing 'sub-standard' repairs by non-authorised repairers. There are ways and means to QC that don't involve restricting trade. But that's a discussion for another day...).ihadablackdog wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 1:40 pm Do any of you get your watches serviced?

The problem is finding a good one and sticking with them. No different to servicing your Z4 at the dealer or an Indy.
I can't offer an opinion on service costs in the UK sorry, hopefully one of the other members here will give an indication of what they pay for servicing.

I've a couple of old auto Seikos(early 70's ), a modern ish every day beater capacitor charge Seiko, Seamaster Aqua Terra Quartz and this Fortis B42 Cosmonaut Chronograph. I've had the B42 from nearly new about 10 years and have hardly worn it as i've got skinny wrists and its a lump. I've got all the papers, links and leather strap and was thinking of moving it on. I think I know its value but the internet has some wildly varying pricing on used ones and because its not that mainstream i'm struggling a little on it. I'm thinking its somewhere £900 to £1,100. Not looking to sell it on this post just wondered if anyone could offer some wisdom.
p.s please don't reply and say you know its worth £400 and you'll give me £500, i'm not yet selling it jut yet..........just wondering

It’s a 3k watch new, so 10 years old with no service, box and papers present. The white face is not popular, I would think the black faces fetch top money. Chronext list one year old ones at £2200. I would advertise it at £1200 with a view of achieving £1050 ish

It is due to the lack of wear, just had it cleaned at my local watch place.

Watching the tennis tonight they talked of Nadals expensive ($725,000) watch - I googled it and was amazed - ok technically superb with super materials but I think it looks bloody hideous!
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

What time is it? If you can't see clearly and easily, then it's just expensive jewellery, with a time function.

They are the exquisitely built watches on earth, I don’t like that one, but the F1 looks rather special.
