What's the origin of the term 'flimper' spec?

Post by danmiddle2 » Sat May 09, 2015 10:53 pm

I gather it means 'basic'... but where does it originate from?

Appreciate this may be a daft question... but was curious.

srhutch having finger trouble. He meant flimper spec car.

- It has no satnav (most significant missing part)
- It has no blue tooth
- It has no extras what so ever really :D

I used to tease him a fair amount over his getting lost on trips, so the term got stuck

He even got lost when we were driving in a convoy of 5 cars a few weeks back on a straight motorway with him wedged in the middle  We could not call him as he does not have BT

Was a classic moment

Even better when he phoned as from the services asking where we were, then realising he was on the wrong side

By extension, one presumes a flimper is one who flimps and a flimper-spec car must be one that facilitates the act of flimping :?

After six years, I've finally learned the other meaning of "Flimper" (other than the Dutch definition).
