Absolutely! Then there's the sound... My dad has brought home various amazing bikes from work in the past including a Ducati 916 Senna, an MV Agusta F4S SP01 and even a Triumph Rocket 3. Still prefer the way a VTR1000 sounds with the right exhaust

One of my nicest bikes to ride but only when ridden hard my 2007 R6 race bike
This picture of me is still being used to advertise bike weekends and cadwell park

This was my last bike owned, I made this street fighter out on a TL1000R. raced it at donington park and then cadwell park, it also retired me for racing at cadwell by spitting me off and busting my leg quite bad.

Whats with the 3rd cable?
Did your tomohawk have gears like the chopper?
I had one when I was young and it didnt have gears.

Neither did mine. That's just a piccy I found on the Interweb. That looks like a Sturmy archer set up on the bars if I'm not mistaken..

Had a silver VTR as my first big bike. Loved it. Terrible fuel range on earlier model though. £1400 is a steal for one nowadays.

Only just noticed this thread!

My first bike was a 1974 KTM Comet Cross bought a month or so before my 16th birthday - my Dad rode it home for me. That birthday was probably the first day I ever got up before 5 a.m.

Petrol was 70p a gallon, a pint was 28p (or 30p if you wanted IPA). Used it, abused it, broke it a few times but it spent it's life being ridden around with school-mates to the chip stand in Epsom, Box Hill and places in between. Freedom!

My best mate bought a Gilera Trial, which was a better built bike. Neither of us wanted an SS50 or FS1E - everyone had one of those.

No bikes for some years now, but the one I miss the most is my Kawasaki KH500 - used as part payment for fitting a new kitchen Mrs Tidy wanted!

If I ever get another I'm torn between an H2 and a Yamaha RD350 LC YPVS - I had several RDs and loved them all! Hopefully one day I'll have a garage again.

Looks very much like it had a 3 speed Sturmey Archer hub gear on the rear

I went the normal route of fizzy first, amongst over 50 bikes I also had an rd350 or two
