So here it is. I bought this completely blind and had it transported to me knowing it was more of a project than anything. This was the autotrader pic and pics the trader sent me
THIS IS WHAT I RECEIVED
The list initially was,
- Sort Bodywork (potential with the front bumper)
- Sort seats (M Sport seats...... worth keeping defo)
- Replace Whippy
So off it went to the body shop TO BE CONTINUED
ON THE NEXT POST (photo limit)

Then the shocks felt a bit...... none existent so I replaced both front shocks, sheering 1 of the clamp bolts in the process..... Passenger side took 20 mins, driver side took 3 hours
Oh yeh I managed to get some M-Sport Wheels also Just ARB bushes to do and that’s it.
Another Maldives Blue Z4 saved
Update:
ARB bushes replaced
Lower arms replaced
Lower arm lollipops replaced
Drop links replaced
Gearbox oil changed
NOT A RATTLE ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!
BOOM
CD player wasn’t working or the changer so out they came, the CD player got repaired and the changer got replaced
Then I had a mental electronic failure which was down to the airbag module getting corroded. It nearly made me give up as it took over a week to solve and killed everything else in the process, no roof, no lights, no indicators, no PDC no remote locking and nothing linked to it so I had no clue what it was. But thanks to the power of the forum I had a hunch it could be that so out it came and everything came back to life. It is one of the few remaining things to sort.
Then the seats. Quite easy really with a £10 bottle of black stuff from amazon and after stretching the leather back into place they have come up really well.

Hello friends, as promised this is the latest photo of the Z looking much better. Sadly no way near as juicy as dwoodford1987's but a vast improvement after some polish and elbow grease. I am still in need of a new front bumper as well as a passenger side front wing and rear quarter panel. I have managed to find someone with all 3 but he wants £240 for each. Any comments would be appreciated, is this a good idea?

£240 per panel sounds dear, but if they are the right colour and in good condition I can't see you getting ones in a different colour any cheaper by the time they have been painted.
But if you're buying 3 parts, surely there should be a deal to be done?
Good luck anyway.
Coupes because stunning!

They are in the right colour but not entirely sure about the condition is all. He said £600 for the 3 which isn't too bad I suppose! Thank you for the advice though!Mr Tidy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 9:33 pmYour car looks good - on that side anyway!matthewpri wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 6:57 pm I have managed to find someone with all 3 but he wants £240 for each. Agreed...... Especially if you don’t have to paint them. If you got perfect parts for free that needed painting then you would still shell out £400-£500 for a proper fitted job.matthewpri wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 11:40 pmThey are in the right colour but not entirely sure about the condition is all. And freshly painted Maldives blue next to an original painted panel where blending can’t be done (like rear bumper to rear arch) will never match perfectly.
Trust me I know

It is possible if you have a body shop who knows how to age paint ... this was the colour match when I fitted Aeros on my old 3.0dwoodford1987 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2019 10:28 amAgreed...... Thanks man sorry I've only just seen this! I think you're right though, I did go into a body shop and said he could blend them but would still cost like £400 a panel which I just didn't have the money for. In the end my dad gave me a lift 4 hours across to Kent and I managed to get a new front wing and front bumper for £400 the bumper had a few stone chips but still significantly better than my broken one at the moment!dwoodford1987 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2019 10:28 amAgreed...... Hey all,
Late to the party but looks like this is the place to fit in.
I have little mods to my 3.0i besides the exhaust, taillights, and M bumper (came like that), but I'm thinking of getting the front M bumper too, or at least a custom one. I know there's that one thread on the full conversion, but I'd like to get a few more opinions on my options and I can see there's a lot here!! Consider this my application to the club too
