Unless you are a car dealer, a bank, or selling to buy a cheaper car I don't see how this is good news?
The "feel good factor" means diddly unless you are selling and buying a pushbike, which are also rising in value due to the pandemic!

A real life example (mine):

I bought a car in April 2021 for £22,700. I have been offered £25,000 for the car today from the selling dealer. Great, I think.
The car I want to buy next is £27,000. In April this car would have been £24,500.
So I have made £2,300 but got to spend £2,500 more for the other car, so I am £200 out of pocket (on top of the extra initial cost).
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

F31 320i. Good car.
E89 20i Now fully dried
Z3 'free litre'. Project and a half. Complicated!
Mazda3 sold
Tatty old R56 Mini Cooper. Money pit!

What car have you gone for?

It was yourself that recently bought that ford?

I think car prices will remain high for sports cars but will fall for more normal metal which is a good thing and yes its only about the price to change.

I cane offered £1 for my car or £1m but just depends on the deal cost

We have just sold two cars for what we paid for them. Neither was brand new at purchase. One we sold to WBAC who gave £2000 more than any trade in deal we could get. The second was a BMW 330e which had been a lease car and I had only had it two weeks. The replacement is a 330e Touring MSport Pro Xdrive which was brand new but from existing stock and we got a discount of just over £5000. So I am very happy with the present situation.

Indeed, yes. I have decided the Ford, although fun for a short while and ultimately practical, was not what I wanted. I am mid fifties!
I am in the process of buying a Merc E400 cab (I really wanted a V8 as you know but head over heart etc). Another compromise, but hopefully a better one. At least with the prices rising of all used cars, changing my mind every 5 minutes is easier to sell to the missus

Pondrew,
easier to sell to the missus

Is the money not still coming out of your pocket if you’re only selling to your Mrs? :poke:

Tax reasons Andrew. I can write the whole deal off against tax as a one-time gift to my spouse. Or, alternatively, issue her with a director's loan from the company to negate the need for any BIK...........yes I am making it up! :D
I decide on a sabbatical for a couple of weeks and suddenly everybody's got a sense of humour; is it the heat?? :P

That sentence could only be topped by "guy at my golf club has one of those".
Now I don't want one any more!
I went to a gym once; I was lost: looking for the Pub next door
