Car Tax
This post has just reminded me to fork out some hard earned cash for my car. £340 a year is a lot considering the government has forced many of us to park our cars and stay at home. Last year I did 50% less Miles (and less pollution) and this year not even done 10% yet still the same tax.
Personally I think it should all be put on fuel; the more you drive, the more you pollute, the more you pay.
This will never change to be honest, so just getting it off my chest.

Sounds far to sensible for any government to implement.

Yep, until recently had two cars plus my S1000R Sport, all registered to me and I'm the only one that drove/rode them, yet I still had to pay 3 sets of VED.
Abstinence is fine, in moderation.

Once they get rid of all cars except electric (Thankfully I won't be around to see it) wonder how they will replace all that tax revenue? Can't put it on fuel so battery tax perhaps or just shove up the price of electricity?

They will simply introduce a tax on electric vehicles, perhaps the one’s claiming the most miles per kilowatt hour paying less per year

I suspect both suggestions may be the way they go. A car tax is straight forward option but supply and demand will kick in as far as electricity is concerned. Perhaps then people may start to conclude that this conversion to everything green may not be a good idea when it starts hitting them where it hurts
