I can start worrying about my 15 year old who cannot be vaccinated at present (and yes we have looked into it as she cannot travel to Malta to visit her grandparents or cousins without a vaccine).

I wouldn't worry about her to much mate. The death rate for Children is 2 per million and I believe that most of the 25 kids in that bracket were of the 0-1 age and there are alot of complications at the young age.

The common cold is more of a killer to your 15 year old- 188 kids died of flu in 2019-2020 and 25 have died of Covid since March 2020.

It goes without saying that any loss of life is tragic. But that still doesn't deflect from the fact that Mr Pondrew's kid is more at risk of the flu than she is of Covid.

I would personally take comfort if someone said that to me concerning the children in my family. Even if I didn't believe them I would take it as a basis for doing some research.

Talk to medical staff about the loss of life - especially children before you make comment - low percentages or not - the loss is often very very upsetting for them.

One thing this thread has taught us all is that no matter what your view or how far out your opinions, there is always some "facts or evidence" posted somewhere on the internet from some "authoritive " source to support your theory.

If people don't want the jab, it's a free country (I have had two and looking forward to my flu and booster covid jab despite having had the damn thing) that's up to them, but they shouldn't whinge when they are not allowed to do things as a result or they get ill as a result. They should also stop trying to prove to others with a different opinion to theirs that they are in the right.

These folk that don’t have it are quietly letting the rest of us take the brunt of this damn virus then dragging up whatever they can find to have an excuse not to take it. I agree we are not all in it together and never have been. I don't believe our Government have bought into that, either, which hasn't helped (although I don't blame the Government, they should stick to collecting taxes and then dishing them out in my book).
The "I'm alright Jack and f*ck the rest of you" attitude has been prevalent in our Country for a long time. Unfortunately something like this comes along and just highlights it. I was going to put IMO at the end but I really don't think it is.

Also, if I see another ferking graph or link to some "facts" I'm gonna scream.
