NHS Covid App

Post by ronk » Sun Jun 27, 2021 3:14 pm

I suspect it’s a crap app!

My wife’s app pinged up with a “quarantine for seven days” warning last week - Apart from her trip to Chapel last Sunday where no other iPhones have pinged we have been together !

Needless to say that’s she’s done her test and it’s negative but it has caused her some concern.

I suspect it’s a glitch and we’ve heard of similar instances.

If she has been asked to isolate for 7 days then the contact was 3 days prior to last Sunday as the isolation time is 10 days from the time of contact.
The app calculates the number of days isolation required always making a total of 10 days

Have done all that has been required of me since Covid struck me back in January 2020, including both jabs. However since the Govt backtracked and didn't free us, I registered my protest by deleting the App. Not much but I did feel better.

Added bonus is my battery life has improved.

I was never too confident of a Government not having glitches, so rightly or wrongly I never downloaded it!

Maybe I got that right.

The only reason I downloaded the App was I was hoping it might increase my chances of a bit of slap and tickle and buttock clenching for good measure :?

That not a very clever app is it?
It reckon that it must be a glitch / crap app - she had not been out for four days before it pinged!

Not saying it’s a clever app, just explaining how it’s supposed to work.

I hadn’t realised there could be a four day delay!

Is this the app that uses the proximity of phones to do its thing?
Do you have close neighbours? Just wondering if the neighbours phone could have possibly got close enough to your wife's one at some point.

In fact, thinking on those lines, what happens if the postman has the app and you happen to be within a few metres of your letter box when he turns up?

I believe that the proximity has to be over a period of time, something like 15 minutes.
