Buzy, I test drove one @ £18,995 from a run of the mill car dealer in the later 90’s couldn’t decide if it was right for Argyll roads and I think the insurance was bananas also just because of the sheer power so made the very intelligent decision to purchase an early Calibra 4x4 turbo, which I loved but what a missed opportunity to own a Lotus Carltonbuzyg wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 3:41 pmYou missed off the Lotus Carton. But just not appreciated enough
You probably couldn't over take that around Monaco in an modern F1 car either.

Missed a Honda NSX once. One came up at a local run of the mill dealers for sub £20k if I recall correctly. Just before they went mental. Never the car for me though, but I did take a good look at it and considered a purchase for a few days. Would have been fun for the bank manager, but it's open top fun for me on Sundays while I'm young enough to stand the battering.Argyll Andy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 4:10 pmBuzy, I test drove one @ £18,995 from a run of the mill car dealer in the later 90’s couldn’t decide if it was right for Argyll roads and I think the insurance was bananas also just because of the sheer power so made the very intelligent decision to purchase an early Calibra 4x4 turbo, which I loved but what a missed opportunity to own a Lotus Carlton

I suspect another thread coming on?
Perhaps where would you like to see an F1 race that currently doesn't have one but more than capable of hosting it?

Nah love it or loathe it F1 has pushed car development forward a lot
One thing I would LOVE to see is a full fat F1 without inferior tyres and with all the aero and engine technology like ground effect, oil injection etc, could probably get round the tracks several seconds quicker than current F1 cars

That would just be a time trial though. Absolutely no hope of any overtaking if you go for the fastest car possible.Flyingfifer wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 1:28 pmNah love it or loathe it F1 has pushed car development forward a lot

And what the hell would I have to look forward to on the weekends??
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.
