Find the nearest pub and wait for the water to go down is the best option.

I was lucky not to loose it, was on my non-rft tyres so like to think they saved me (as opposed to driver skill).Flyingfifer wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 4:23 pmProper lol'd at the 2nd videoihadablackdog wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 9:29 pm
(don't remember the videos being this dark for some reason)
No way Id drive my car through that bit unless it was just some shitbox that I didnt care about but even then, its just risk for the sake of risk imo
Nothing more funny than other people’s mis-fortune, and I bet the other driver looked in his mirror and p$ssed himself.
I on the other hand, sh1t myself!!!!
Never seen it flooded there since but the other part floods every now and then but last few times I’ve turned round and gone about 2 mile detour, well worth it I think.

You could probably have the van driver done for that, either driving without due care and attention or according to the conditions. Looks to me there was time to slow down before hitting the water.ihadablackdog wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 9:29 pmAnd then I nearly got wiped out with this stretch (same road) that I'd never seen flooded before: https://youtu.be/D9VHFwWHkVA

Words can't express how "daft" these folks are. They deserve any damage and cost incurred because of their actions. Even here in the US if I had one of our "lifted" big trucks I would not attempt. Water and rust go hand in hand. Not for me thanks.

I was probably going a bit too fast for the conditions although I didn’t see that coming until he hit it and by then there wasn’t time to react, apart from put my head between my legs and kiss my arse good bye.TitanTim wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 12:53 pmYou could probably have the van driver done for that, either driving without due care and attention or according to the conditions. I’ve never seen it flood at that point before (or since) and to be fair, he probably didn’t see it either until he also hit it.
Just bad timing really, could’ve been worse for me and as you say, I lost visibility for a second or two and did a bit of aqua planing as the car definitely turned to the left a bit.

This argument would go in both directions, although its higher I'm sure the Zed sent plenty of water onto the van as well. What's good for the goose and all that.TitanTim wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 12:53 pm You could probably have the van driver done for that, either driving without due care and attention or according to the conditions. It was just a bad bit of flooding and some inconvenient timing nothing more

Yeah, I never thought of that but looking back at the video in slow-mo you can see my car creating a splash that must've got his windscreen as well, so both of us got wet
Roof down tonight though, so all is good

I got caught in a tsunami from the opposite side of s dual carriageway near Dumbarton . It had been raining very heavily but It had stopped and the sun had popped out. If I’d been in the Z the top would have been down - A heavy going in the opposite direction launched so much water I was driving blind for a few seconds - the wipers that eventually came on couldn’t cope.
If I’d been in the Z it would have been filled and I dare say looked like a pair of chumps .

Sorry, I think I must have a bit of a thing about white van drivers as I got spat at once top down in the Z3, a bit worse I guess

Have you still got the Z3? I remember when you got rid of your pristine 1series to get the Z4....it was you that turned me to Z4’s (on the babybmw site).

Sadly I sold the Z3 back in 2017, part of me wished I hadn't now although its still local to me and apparently going strongihadablackdog wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 9:30 pmHave you still got the Z3? Think before the Z4 I had a 118d M Sport which I traded in for the Z4 then went onto a M135i and traded that in for my current M140i although I've been tentitively looking at a Mazda MX5 soft top or the RF but unsure if could sell the M140i to fund one as it was down as keeper car but getting pulled to a 2 seater again
