Reading through this gave me a good ol chuckle
If there was an Olympic sport for mental gymnastics a few would be in with a world class level performance.

Unlock the country, end the fearmongering. :soapbox:

Isn’t that’s what’s happening - and in a controlled / step by step manner?

I’m looking forward to more freedom - At my age I don’t have as many years to waste as you young pups!
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

Death by a thousand cuts
The economy is smashed to dust and we have indebted the next 3 or 4 generations for the sake of the very oldest in society, the average age of covid death in the UK is 80 (SAUCE).... the UK life expectancy is 81(SAUCE2).

The reaction to this has been vastly out of proportion and long winded, it should have been completely ended once a vaccine was available and being rolled out.

What do you mean by rolled out?
Ie after how many administered. There about half the U.K. been done now - in your opinion . Is that enough?- are you suggesting we just go back to normal now?

I would add that when to get older, you probably won’t have the same relaxed attitude to life expectancy. :rofl

First given to non retired over 60s, people with underlying conditions (say 80-100%) and in the process of giving to the oldest (most at risk)

I have said multiple times before that if I was currently 80 or 81 my take on unlocking the country wouldn't be any different, how unbelievably selfish and morally abhorrent for me to advocate stripping people younger than me of their right to live their life, work and progress for the sake of giving me maybe another couple of years and that's not even to mention the fact that in that circumstance I have no real requirement to be out on a daily basis, I could hide myself away and have my shopping delivered if I was so concerned about eeking out another year or so. Basically this woman, mad respect to her.

You say that now but add 40 years to your clock and you won’t be saying that - you might like to think you will but trust me. - you won’t be so flippant when you’re looking down the barrel of 80

You give that old bat any credence?

I have suffered for my principles multiple times throughout my life and I will continue to do so, no point breaking them at the end of it :idunno:
My stance wouldnt change, regardless of how surprised you may be.

Having lived my 80 years it would be utterly unthinkable to me to prevent and restrict others from doing so to give me another year or two. (especially considering that I would be almost 20years past the ALE in Scotland for a Male)

What is she saying thats wrong?

I think we are almost there with the current regime. It’s been difficult for a lot of people for a multitude of reasons - let’s just take it in logical measured steps.

Good Old Yorkshire lass.

We are a bit more straight shooting than you lot.

Got our own variant now you know. Me and the lads had a bet on which place got their variant next. I chose Norfolk so I was wrong.

Apparently the Yorkshire variant of Covid-19 could be "more transmissible" according to the Boris Broad Casting. :o

At 32 you can have those ideals - I may have had similar ideals - now at 73, 80 doesn’t seem that far off.
Hence my opinion.
