The owners are very well spoken and don’t sound Northern and our shopping was delivered by a guy from Harrogate so he sounded Northern and the Amazon man sounded Eastern European

I’m a bit late to this thread Eddy but you’ve picked a lovely place, it’s about 35 miles up the road from me. Folk from that area don’t sound too northern, higher class of resident round the greater Harrogate area. Good luck with it all

Met up with a couple of Forum friends this week, I’ve done more quality driving and miles this week than I did in the previous 18 months down South

Our Escape to the Country

Post by Lynchy » Fri Jul 15, 2022 12:45 pm

I’d forgotten about this thread so just a quick update for those that are interested. We have been here just over a year now and are still living in rented accommodation but are extremely happy here. Finding our perfect home to buy isn’t as easy as I thought it was going to be but like I said extremely happy to be where we are and I’m sure we’ll find something soon. I haven’t worked while I’ve been here except for 1 paying job and that was because an old boy saw my van parked up at the Docs while collecting my meds.
While we’ve been here I got diagnosed with skin cancer which was dealt with very quickly and all seems to be ok now with regular checkups and if that wasn’t enough I suffered a heart attack while out on The Dales walking last New Years Eve. Glad to say I’ve made a full recovery and all tests etc since are very positive so the long walks and driving the Zed continue. I have met up with a few Forum friends and groups and done a few brilliant runs. Since we’ve been here we have become grandparents so we get to see our granddaughter and our kids much more than if we still lived down south. Looking forward to our future and meeting up with our Zed friends from down south at Zedfest……that’s if the Zed is out of bodyshop by then
