Second Jab

Post by dr_john » Wed Apr 21, 2021 11:15 am

My wife had her second jab (AZ) yesterday, a bit apprehensive as she had a bad reaction to the first one.

All seemed good but now she's suffering today (headache, hot/cold chills) but not quite as bad as the first time round.

Funny that. When my wife had hers I suffered from earache for 48 hours.

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

I was fine after first jab but felt like I’d been dragged thro a hedge backwards after the second jab. That only lasted for a day.
Other way round for me. Felt rough for 48 hours after first jab in January. Had my second jab Friday and no issues whatsoever. :)

The vaccine roll out and testing program is very impressive. I just hope the rest of Europe gets its act together so I can get over there during summer. Unfortunately our planned trip to Italy in June won’t be going ahead now :x
The idea of my annual German / Netherlands trip has been scrubbed again for this year.
DFDS keep reminding me to book crossing but its not going to happen. I don't feel comfortable nor confident just yet.

Don't blame you. Taking care now ensures you will still be around next year. Stay safe.

Signed up for the trials for the booster but doubt I will hear anything.

The more of this stuff they can pump into me the better as far as I am concerned.

Went out for my first Sunday lunch in a year yesterday and must admit it's a great feeling knowing you are safe.

Coffee in Rothbury, a pint in Alnwick and 3 course lunch just down the road at Ramside Hall just outside of Durham.
The second pint when we got home just helped me to nod off for a hour.

Life and this retirement lark is tougher than I anticipated
