Thanks all for the kind words, I’m going to give this some thought over the next week I think. I need to sort the tires anyway as the rears are rubbing on fast corners / depressions, and I wouldn’t sell the car as it is.

Mrs seems a bit more mobile today, heading out for the first time since Meds on Tuesday

Thanks Andy,

Yes, the headlines re Sabine didn’t help yesterday.

I’ve gone ahead and replaced the tires with a brand new set of PS4S’s and had the brake fluid changed yesterday, so everything is bang up to date if I do sell the E89 and buy a 4 seater... finding it a bit hard to be motivated to anything about it right now :(

I was thinking about you both yesterday when I read that sad news.

I saw you’d got these things sorted yesterday and glad the tyre change has been a positive one, you’ve also got the balloons to sell second hand to the M3/4 market

I know motivation will be very difficult at the moment and I’ve no doubt things will be high and lows on a daily basis but I personally think you need to try and find the motivation from somewhere and get that 4 seater and go out and enjoy everything you possibly can

My partner wouldn’t have a clue who Sabine is, but I avoided reading about it when she was around. She was 49 in January :(. (My partner that is)

I don’t know you personally Martin. But like many other Forum members I wish you and your partner well. Make as many good memories as you can.

Sorry to see your Z4 is up for sale Martin so I hope that goes well.

And hopefully you will find a good 4 seat convertible to have some fun this summer.

Best wishes to you and your OH.

    Grim

My take on it would be to make the absolute most of the Z4 with her while its an option, I'm sure she encouraged it for a reason and would very much enjoy getting away with you where possible. If it has electric seats raising them up to make it as easy as possible getting in and out would be a shout.

Despite my absolute distain for large 4 seater convertibles I'd agree with Andy, a 6 series would be a good shout Nice V8 example or alternatively a 330i Nice M Sport Highline

If something a bit smaller would suite there is also the Fiat 500 Nice example 595 or perhaps the Mini Cooper S Good colour with fair power

Ok, so updated the first post... search is now on, budget up to £14k but happy to spend a lot less.

Has anyone owned the convertible version of the Golf R by any chance?

4 seats, 4 wheel drive and pretty rapid across country (well the tin-top is).... and I think I could potentially get one in the garage for close to £14k :?

EDIT - Golf R Cab is actually on FWD, only the hatch is 4WD.

Audi S5 cab all day long for that budget. Older ones are V8 4.2 N/A, newer are V6 s/charged, both within range. AWD too.

Very very nearly bought one a few months ago, then realised I already have a cab!! :D

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.
