OK they are fugly but the critics loved them; and they are rare! Jap reliability too.
Wow that is left field - a right button fest in there

I was thinking Lexus IS250 but again thought it a little Japanese inside which is nt the best :D

In a strange way I really like them. Apparently they are rapid and have many components from the 350/370z and GTR R35. :driving:

About as big a four seater cab as you'll find without getting a Bentley or RR, which I fear may be over budget and not exactly fun

And, being Japanese, I'll wager no-one has to bail water out of the boot after a heavy dew
The "princess Leia" headrests are different too.

I quite like infinity as they are rare but would take an e-class mercer vert over one, think it will sell quicker and retain better value

The OP asked for opinions on a "fun" vert though. There is no MB vert (apart from the AMG which is way out of budget) that fits the bill.
I nearly bought (yes I nearly bought many cars recently I know) an E500 cab with the 4.7l twin turbo V8 (they didn't make many as emissions regs got in the way). As it was expensive for a 9 year old car I wanted to test drive it. It was like a jet-propelled boat. Fast, yes. Noisy, yes. Fun, definitely not unless being spat into the weeds at any moment is your idea of fun. It felt about as rigid as a piece of crepe paper in a hurricane :D

Well T-B has to give something and fun is an M3 (my first choice) or an S5 but trying to give options and the merc is better than a pumped up Nissan or Toyota IMHO :D

I love this forum because now we are just arguing about which cars we do and don't like. It's great

Not arguing Drew, we all have opinions, I am not a massive fan off Jap cars as the inside always look a bit 90's to me :D

I would get an M3 and just enjoy the ride :D

Hmmm, I’m coming around to the idea of an M3 or an A5... but possibly not the S5.

I think the Audi option might be a remapped 3.0L TD Quattro... enough torque to pull up tree stumps :?

Think we may be in the same boat. Wife has decided we're getting another dog which is fine by me. However, when out for a blast in the Zed yesterday she mentioned a 3 or 4 week road trip next year. Great, but what about the dog?
We'll swap this for a 4 seater convertible....

Do I change the car - or the wife?
I do like to go topless......

Just push the boat out and get that blue M3 I linked the other day - looks a great car and will be fantastic to drive.

The A5 is a nice car that's for certain but as a weekend toy surely the S5 is the way to go

Conversation should go something like this:

You - "If you like dogs so much why don't you take up dog-sitting. People make a fortune out of it."

Wife - "Ooh that sounds like a good idea."

You - "Great, I know where you can get a four week booking for starters."

I'm fine with having a dog. I'm fine with doing a long European trip in a convertible.

Just didn't plan on combining the two. May get away with it this summer as the dog won't be here for quite a while but 2022 may be after a 330d cabriolet or possibly an A5
