Central Vacuum system

Post by pvr » Wed Aug 19, 2020 10:05 am

Planning to upgrade the 4 bay garage to allow more of the detailing work to take place in there, and was looking at installing a central vacuum system with the pipes in the wall and a number of connection points to connect the hose to.

Anyone got any experience with these systems and what to go for?

Central Vacuum system

Found a unit I like now.

Main reason is that in my garage, I am going to place the central unit in the loft space. The central units are not limited to the domestic power output limitation so you can get a decent vacuum to do the cars. Then on the outlet, you just gonnect the (15 meter) hose and you can use them properly with the car cleaning.

The vaccum can be switched on and off from the hose front as well so makes it a lot easier to use.

Using that in the garage is a bit like walking with an oxygen cylinder near your car :poke:

So where did you get that mystery garage from anyway? Far from your place?

Very few units around here Paul, Bakewell is the nearest and there is only a very small industrial site, one guy owns the lot so no chance of one coming up for sale. I hate to rent as it’s dead money but barring buying some land, which I keep a look out for, there’s not much option. The pic of the ramp is barely half of the unit, I take the rest of it 1st Sept’ so will have 80sqmt.

My house was built with just such a system in 1989 it’s called Canavac Canadian System popular in would you believe Canada. It is a great piece of kit, central Collection point in the garage with four outlets around the house the hose being long enough to hoover all over. Never had any blockage’s or trouble with it
