That'll be nice and expensive to fix even if it's only for a repaint at Porsche, think it was over 1500 quid to have the rear bumper, diffuser replaced and painted on my old M135i at BMW, so if you need a new rad etc a couple of grand I imagine. At least you have the person who did it, mine was a hit a run so consequently I had to go through the insurance with the car being on BMW finance and hence my renewal premium almost doubled.

I can sympathise, just carelessness and some people shouldn't be behind the wheel. Does the other person wear glasses, did they have them on.

Tim.

We’ve all made silly mistakes ( I nudged a bright yellow grit bin with her ladyships new Audi A4 because I knew better than the parking sensors) and the fella has owned up to it The Porsche body shop will do a first class job. My new 35is was in a Porsche approved place before I even drove it (not accident damage) and I defy anyone to tell me it’s been repainted.

Not a perfect day then. Looks like it should be straight forward to sort. MrsG got her car back from the paint shop for the second time in a month on Friday. Yours will be looking spic and span in no time I'm sure.

Can I bring up a bit of a rub? Will there be any value loss when years from now you go to sell and the carfax shows an accident?

It doesn’t work like that in the UK, no accident will be recorded on the car. The OP is spot on here, it’s a car, old people are always more likely to have these types of bumps. I’d explain to him that’ll need to be an insurance claim and get it to the Porsche garage so they can book you in and his insurance can pay for you to be in a nice new 992 whilst you wait on yours to be repaired. 👍🏻

Take photos of the damage for the history file. Although the damage will no doubt be expensive it doesn’t appear significant and it will be completed in an approved bodyshop and not an insurance el cheapo place where things tend to get done to a price rather than a standard.

I’m with Greg here, it’s upsetting seeing your car taking as knock, but loosing it at someone who has been honest and taken full responsibility for it isn’t going to make it better for either party. If the chap had denied It or driven off then that’s when dB levels rise!

How many of us can say with honesty we’ve never nudged or creased a panel? It’s certainly not a codger specific thing!

Well, that was a surprise...

Coolant leak unrelated and seems to be a common problem on mid 2018 models. Being fixed under warranty.

Total price for the bumper off respray is........

Give me your guesses
