I think the press are looking for an issue that doesn't exist!

I insured my Z4 with Churchill this year and declared a non-standard exhaust - as it isn't a performance system they had no issue with that, or with my 295 wheels that came off an E89.

Told them about the ZHP gear-knob and they weren't interested about that, even though I'd say they were potentially one of the more "risk-averse" insurers.

To be honest I doubt most of the "motor engineers" in the insurance industry these days would know what was standard either.

My premium went up by £50 when I told Admiral that I had added an Airtec intercooler to my Abarth Punto Evo. However, even though it is declared on the policy they state that in the event of an accident that they will only replace it with a standard one. Bad times.

Then when I told them I had a dashcam, the premium down by £30. Good times.
Mixed up Kiwi/Swiss half-breed.

I have two colleagues at work with football stickers and have often thought they could attract unwanted attention.

Admiral class PDC as a modification.

Best thing is to disclose all mods then there can be no argument.

That was my thinking too, which is why I declared my ZHP.

But I'll have to remember next year to declare my "semi-whippy"!

My favourite part about renewing my insurance is the 'OK so is the car modified? It's the sigh of resignation from the poor sales person when they realise after several minutes I'm only half way through the list

My insurance was great though - 500 for the year fully comp with protected ncb - absolutely everything declared and including like for like replacement in the event of an accident :)

I'd like to see any insurer invalidate insurance for a sticker, their PR department would be mortified and the backlash swift.

I do to a certain extent understand their point of view regarding the football sticker, I have never followed football, bunch of over paid primadonna’s who roll round on the floor crying if someone has bumped into them and disturbed their hair gel,!!, prefer motorsport myself, poor young Billy Monger had a horrific accident and lost both legs and is now back to winning form, Marc Marquez falls off at nearly 200mph, dusts himself off, runs back to the pits and puts his spare bike on the front grid!!!! No drama

Anyway I digress, back to the point, I can see if you park your said car with your team badge on it , in a street near the football stadium on an away game there’s going to be a good chance that it’s not going to look the same when you go back to it, specially if the other team loses, it’s happened to a friend of mind and happens in Bristol at times.

I cannot believe how passionate supporters are, Bristol City is like a religion to my friend and his car is like an advertisement for the team, I can understand why he’s had it sctrached and mirrors snapped by same moron from another team who gets a little bit upset

I have modified (pimped up) my 1260 Ducati with a wrap kit as fed up of red MTSs, added alarm, crash bungs etc and spent 1/2 hr explaining it all but no increase in premium, If you insurance company want to shaft you then you can always look elsewhere, even though it takes about 40 mins a call, that’s another moan for another time lol

Sorry for the rant midway, think I got out the wrong side of the bed this morning so being Mr Grumpy

To be fair it's a valid point (as far as the claim is about a vandalised car rather than an accident etc)
