What does 300+mph in a road car look like?
I expect that Koenigsegg probably can't or won't break this barrier, as the engineering challenges don't lie so much with the car but foremost with the tyres, and Koenigsegg just doesn't have the money or possibilities that VAG has with their 200billion+revenue to work with michelin or another tyre manufacturer to develop a bespoke tyre that can safely get to these speeds.
Christian Koenigsegg commented on this in the past, and rather concentrate on the fastest 0-400-0kmh time
I wonder if this chiron is a road legal car. Because with non road legal, bespoke top speed cars, 300mph isnt thàt fast in this age (what did the thrust ssc again? I think it was 2.5 times as fast, over 2 decades ago )

You sound sceptical. I am no fan of VAG, but a verified record is just that. Some one sets the rules and some sets the record within those rules. The others take part and grumble, that's kind of how life is.GuidoK wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2019 8:59 pm I expect that Koenigsegg probably can't or won't break this barrier, as the engineering challenges don't lie so much with the car but foremost with the tyres, and Koenigsegg just doesn't have the money or possibilities that VAG has with their 200billion+revenue to work with michelin or another tyre manufacturer to develop a bespoke tyre that can safely get to these speeds.

Haha love it! The Jesko is Koeniggsegg's latest car, launched a few months back in Geneva. It's pretty phenomenal and is meant to be able to hit 300 mph. To my knowledge it hasn't clocked an official speed yet though.buzyg wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2019 12:19 amNever heard of Jesko.wonkydonkey wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2019 9:47 pm That Koeniggsegg is pretty old now. Unless they sell it as a production version then I'm not all that impressed.
The M2K Motorsports Ford GT has already hit 300mph

Alright, calm down.
It's obvious they will sell this as a Supersport version.
Look at the on board footage of the Chiron. Now look at the GT. I can guarantee the GT's is a lot more mental than the very slightly twitchy steering on the Chiron.

What kind of penalty do you think you would get for 300mph in a 30mph zone? Why has nobody asked this question? Surely it’s the first thing you would try if you owned such a machine!
