Lost my brother :(
It is with a heavy heart that I have to say that my brother Neil passed away 2 weeks ago from his injuries when a car collided with him on his bike 1/4 of a mile from his home.
Neil loved bikes, had ridden since he was 6 and was the one who got me riding.
He was a genuinely lovely guy who would help anyone. Stories are coming out of how as an NHS physio he would go see patients in his own time when they could get the appointments they needed. He travelled to Nepal on his own money to help rehabilitate kids with Cerebal Palsy, where he accidentally got a room with the head of KTM Nepal and spent his weekends biking about the hills of Nepal with him. The stories of how generous and kind he was are pouring out from friends, colleagues and patients alike. He was 35, did so much and had so much to live for.
He told bis best mate how much I liked my Z4 and how he liked it too and his best mate bought a 08 Roadster off Neil's advice.
The family is devastated and I really miss him as we had only just started to rebuild his Aprilia RSV Mille R which we were going to take on track. I've been doing it up this weekend and miss him loads as I can't tell him about all the stuff I've done on the bike.
My last real memory of him was at a track day at Brands where we had a great time and I’ll continue the RSV in his memory.
Thanks to the London Air Ambulance and the wonderful staff at St George’s Neuro ICU we had time to say goodbye to him after the accident.
When we were in the coffee shop, we heard one nurse who was looking after him say “I’ve only got 30 minutes and I’ve spent 15 trying to get a coffee.”
So we asked anyone who wanted to send flowers etc. just to put the money towards donations so that we can help the staff facilities and the relatives room at St George’s and the Air Ambulance. We figured that £500 would get them a coffee machine for the break room and one for the relative’s room with a little to the charity would be amazing. We have been overwhelmed by the response.
Anyhow, apologies for the rambling and long post.
If anyone did want to help out it would be lovely, but please ride and drive safe out there.

Sorry for your loss, he sounded like a great guy and helped many people less fortunate than him which is something you can be hugely proud of.

I'm sorry to hear this and I also feel your pain. The same happened to my brother when he was only 32, this was 21 years ago now and still think of him most days. Your memories of the good times will get you through this tough time and time will eventually make it feel easier on you all.

So sad to hear of such a tragic loss.
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

35...that's awful. I guess we don't fully realise how amazing the NHS staff are until we need them.
