What can I say? You'd have to be a borderline sadist to reverse park up to a footpath with a tow bar and walk away without a care.
Hands up anyone who has ever smacked a shin on one of these in their life? (that's right, probably EVERYONE).
Now, where's my angle grinder?

Doesn't look like it has ever been used for towing. So may as well cut it off.

Never banged my shin on one...ever...but I tend to give any parked vehicles a decent gap as I don't want something I'm carrying to inadvertently scratch someone's pride & joy / piece of s**t (delete as appropriate).
Did manage to ski into a car park barrier once though - but my excuse was that it was covered in lovely powder and I was using the car park as a short cut to the ski-in area of my hotel - now that hurt...a LOT
