Another tragidy at the IoM TT. Best motor sport in the world for me. But you have to ask, when is one more young life lost too many. :(

RIP Daley Mathison.

Not sure the TT claimed another young life - more a case of another young rider gave his life to the TT

Very sad, but it's not like they don't know what the risks are.

Michael Dunlop probably knows better than anyone, but still went this year.

They are just wired a bit differently to the rest of us.
Coupes because stunning!

Watching it now as well on TV. There is no margin for error sadly. Freedom to race is great but its a sad tale when they dont go home again :(

As tragic as it is the fact is nobody holds a gun to anyone’s head and makes them ride, you pays your money.....

Indeed, so sad. Not really that different to any other high risk sport though in terms of danger, in fact its considerably safer than most. Compare total number of fatalities in the IOM TT compared to something like climbing Everest, or even just skiing.

Waste of a life, but his number came up, some one upstairs wanted a new dispatch rider. He was doing what he loved to do :|

I knew Daley personally and worked with him during last year's TT.

I spent 3 weeks at the TT last year working on the University of Nottingham Electric Superbike, and it's quite hard to grasp the mentality of the TT riders sometimes. Most are there without being paid and just want the glory, and are fully aware that they're either bringing their bikes home or die trying. I honestly don't know how they do it, I felt quite nervous everytime Daley went out on our bike, and they're so relaxed about it.

Daley was such a figure and great rider, he will be truly missed. The organisers at the IoM TT try their best to hide details from the media/public, but word away spreads in the Paddock, and from what I've heard, it's very likely he crashed because of a mechanical failure.

Such a tragedy he lost his life but probably doing something he loved. When watching the TT the camera shot from the bottom of Brae hill that shows them approaching and passing it is unbelievable, the speed from those guys is just mind blowing. I took my zed there a couple of years ago out of season and gave it a good go where possible for the 38ish miles, took around an hour and 10 min. I know these lads are on closed roads and race conditions but sub 17 minutes, hats off to them.

I know one thing my balls are nowhere near big enough to try that....I’ll happily jump out of a perfectly good aeroplane with a knotted hanky strapped to my back but those riders seem on a complete knife edge when they’re going for it.....nay nay and thrice nay.....

Went to the IOMTT this year, it's a shame to hear of a death as always.

I hope that never becomes a reason to call it a day though.. I beleive another died this year -a non-competetor on the mountain pass. As a visitor you can enjoy it without getting carried away (but I don't know the details so can't be critical)

Amazing experience and can see how people get addicted.
