subbed! apologies for long post, slow day at work..
i know nothing (jon snow) really, but i waste enough of my life watching people on youtube and i've made a handful of videos in the past, so take my comments as you wish:
a gimbal would likely help no end, or perhaps the new stabilised go-pro (+ mic) mostly because of the camera shake. It's certainly not all about the gear, but having good steady/smooth moving video and less wind noise will just make everyone complain less. One thing i learnt as a kid messing about making videos was that everything has to be much slower, and much more stable than you realise - to just make it watchable. as an example ... nobody REALLY cares about your dog bed, but you mentioned it - so let people see what you're talking about Likewise you talked about wheel styles - so insert some slow panning footage of the wheel so people know what you're talking about.
some guys operate with a cue card/agenda pre-prepared, might help when you first start to get a rhythm.
that said - you're not awkward and you're not putting on some 'TV voice' (see JayEmm, experienced pro cameraman with tonnes of videos but i still find completely awkward on camera). Also, you're northern so you can take banter - which means i can tell you not to wear deep-V tshirts on camera, or wife beaters
in this vid at the end ( https://youtu.be/CAi3Jpzlub4?t=557 ) most youtubers will do another take just to get it right - fix the camera shake, nail their ending lines, make sure start-stop is turned off in advance and fix the wind noise. you've got all the right ideas - i bet it's just a case of practice makes perfect.
Do you have a plan for getting access to cars to continue making vids?

Thanks Jimmybell really appreciate you taking time for your feeback, defo going to take all you've said on board!.. Next investment is definatley a gimbal and I'm in the process of getting a battery for my go pro hero 4. Found the editing software that isn't too painful and I'm going to review my mates mk2 tt v6 this weekend hopefully, being on Instagram a few lads have offered me their cars which is nice.
