What happened to Mike (ducklakeview) haven’t seen a post on here in a long time, I now only post myself in the Lounge and Other Marques but he is no where to be seen.

I've read that topic, but what I never understood is why DLV started a business called zed shed.
There has been a zed shed for years, affiliated with the zroadster.org forum (I even think they have 2 locations) where they fix zeds more or less for free (as a community initiative). https://tinyurl.com/yx9hcceh
I don't think DLV is affiliated with them is he? Then why call himself that (its probably not a protected name, but still....odd.....)

He's still posting regularly on Instagram @the zed shed. Clearly still taking money from paying customers...

Edit: I just read a painful review of his business on Google. He caused £2,855 worth of damage to a customer's car, after taking 4 months to "fix" his roof

That's a shame as he seemed like a real enthusiast. :?

He replaced my rear brake pipes and cut and coded a flip-style key for me in late 2017 for a very reasonable price while he was still working from home, and I was really pleased with what I paid for what I got.

I no longer head up that way, but after seeing some of the comments and reviews I think even if I did I might have 2nd thoughts.

I don’t know what has gone wrong. This doesn’t seem like the same guy who replaced a lot of roof motors for Forum members. He also did lots of Vanos work. He called at my home on his way back from doing work in Cambridge and replaced the roof motor in less than half an hour. A first class job at a very reasonable price.

He was also a really active member and was a real asset with his technical inputs and help to other forum members. I learned an awful lot from his posts. Such a shame that things went the way they did, but you can't overlook the multiple reports now coming to light about the awful experiences some people have had. The forum sure is a worse place without his insights though.

It really comes across as someone who liked tinkering with cars and making a bit of money on the side helping out others but then when it was turned into a full time business time and money takes over.
Did he not also have another business?, maybe he just took too much on and cant cope.
It doesn't excuse how he is treating his customers though.

Agreed
I've never used DLV but directed a mate to him about a year ago when his roof motor failed (Hydraulic pump). Mike fixed it and relocated the motor. He had nothing but praise for him

Mike had/has an off licence business too.
I bought a mig welder from him and had no issues with the sale or welder. As others have said, he was a great asset to the forum and was always very busy at Zedfest.
