So true, the schools around here were shutting midday yesterday because of the possibility of snow, it was just overcast. WTF

SNOW
I remember struggling to school one snowy/icy morning in the 80s, using 3 buses to go the 8 miles.
Got to school on time and was told it was shut due to the trouble teachers were having getting in.
Waited an hour for the bus for the first leg of my return journey, and a driver of a bus going the other way told me that there no more buses on that route as they were now cancelled, so my return commute was half bus & half foot...and I got back home at lunchtime
When my mother got home at 4pm, I saw her car had some damage on it and thought someone had hit her in the snow, but it turned out that she’d simply skidded on the downhill section of road going through the exit gateway at work and slid into a fence post.

^Unbelievable isn't it . Slightest millimetre of snow or ice & schools are shut. 6 weeks summer holiday & another 4-6 for Easter, half terms, inset days just before half/full term, 9am to 3pm WTF? I'll say no more .

I wonder what tonight/early morning will bring.
I'm in work at 10 tonight and its my week on the long run.
Leave depot, (London Gateway) at about 10.30 in an artic, upto Tamworth where I swap trailers and have a break, then Tamworth down to Ashford Truckstop in Kent. Swap trailers with a guy coming up from Brussels have another tacho break and then back to London Gateway.
What could possibly go wrong
Always makes me chuckle how this country deals with the white stuff, weather, not up your hooter
Did a tour in 2011 that started the last week of January and for the first 5 weeks we were bouncing around Finland, Sweden and Norway with no real problems at all.
