An unusual sight at the Petersen but actually quite surprised at how the general shape is close to the Panamera outline...

I thought it may be the one made for Ferry Porsche’s 75th Birthday but that was a different colour, obviously made others too :driving:

Nope - The Panamera project was given the green light after Porsche saw the Fiat Multipla and decided that they had to be able to do 'ugly' better than the Italians...

I like the panamera

That honestly looks like the inspiration for it, wouldn’t be surprised if that’s exactly where the idea came from.

The one in the Petersen Museum looks like a 5 door whereas Ferrys birthday present is a 3 door

I'm not sure why, but I've always liked the 928!

If you wanted a really exclusive fast estate car that one at the Peterson would definitely fit the bill!

I'd love it, especially in that colour.

I've got an 928 S4 as a weekend car for long cruises at a rapid pace. But even I have to say the shooting brake version looks ugly. I suppose in the days before 3D CAD knocking out prototypes was the way it was done to judge the looks. Thankfully never went in to production.

Nice try Porsche, but the Italians still won that one and by quite a margin.
