Great life story. SO pleased for you.

Another nod to homeopathy here. How natural treatments and encouraging the body to heal itself can be called 'alternative medicine' is insane! Surely chemical drugs that all have side effects should always be considered the alternative and a last resort.

I knew he was in a chair Alan but I didn’t know he’d recovered! That’s utterly fantastic for him and his family!! I’m so glad to hear that..!!

The physio that cured me went into it a little, in a nutshell, if the limb, organ, skin etc, isn’t physically damaged, ie, broken arm etc, and it has blood and oxygen to it, then it’s the brain that has stopped it working. If you go to hospital with Phrenic nerve paralysis like mine they try to treat the nerve, but they can’t as they can’t get to it with it being so close to the superior vena cava, plus they don’t know how it got damaged, well there’s your problem, it didn’t get damaged, the heart surgeon never got near it, they say there’s no treatment, hard luck pal. This guy goes to the brain first and kicks it up the arse basically. It’s the same with your son, unless his nerves were damaged or severed in an accident, then it’s the brain at fault and you just need a guy to pin point the right nerve path to reset the brain. Nothing wrong with his legs, he was paralysed simply because the brain had got into a pickle for whatever reason.

So pleased to hear he’s ok.
Yep, and I also believe that Puberty played a part in his case, with brain re-mapping going on at that 12/13 age. The old connection stopped before the new area was fully mapped and ready to take over. The brain is an incredible organ.

I’m on holiday in SW Germany and have only just picked up your post and can only say I’m delighted to hear your news but at a guess not nearly as delighted as you are !

If the bellows are working and the AF is fixed there will be no stopping you .

I wonder if he could fix my dodgy nerve induced leg problem - that’s not intended as a free flippant question!
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

 Can’t agree more Darkangelv2, I’m convinced we’re in a money related drug company loop that holds the NHS to ransom driven my a USA compensation culture that has wormed its way into this country. There are soooooo many alternatives to drugs...the mind is a finely balanced instrument controlling a massively complicated machine, it needs maintaining just like any other control centre. We ignore alternative treatments to our detriment. Thank so much you for your well wishes, very much appreciated as all the the others too, this really is a great forum despite the odd hiccup which is inevitable.

Thanks - I will look
Today we spoke to a couple at the Wein fest and quite unprompted she said “ you’ve got a problem with your neck”
She said she could tell by my posture - she pointed to the area - she happened to be an experienced physiotherapist,

I’m hoping and where there’s hope!
But that’s preaching to the converted I guess!

John - this is great news! very happy you found a fix. :driving: Presumably some sort of car related celebrations incoming?!

As a somewhat big pharma skeptic id agree with some of the comments about over use of medication over investigative treatment, i can certainly see the value in some alternative medicines - particulary stuff that our rigid (somewhat commercially led) medical frameworks dont address.

I would add homeopathy is not medicine, though.

John, I'm really pleased to hear you're better. The doctor in me would say that you had a phrenic nerve neuropraxia and that the natural history is recovery over two years or so. However, that wouldn't explain how you went from dependent on oxygen to completely free of it at exactly the time this chap treated you. It makes no sense to me, but I'm really glad that you found something and someone who could help.
I'm sure you'll be unstoppable now, having faced such a bleak future and come out the other side
